Based on his quotes, it may be too late for Keselowski.

Well some of those drivers couldn't pass baseline cognitive testing on a GOOD day, so I get why they're worried, but tough bananas, I say.

Dumb redneck makes dumb redneck comment. I'm surprised he didn't try to make a comparison to Obamacare.

I had assumed drivers were a little smarter than that. Mistake.

/probably down't vaccinate his kids either

Brad, you can complain all ya want.  At the end of the day, you're still gonna take the test. =-)

The guy looks like his family missed a couple of rungs on the evolutionary ladder.

Concussion testing really isn't a field for doctors.

Drivers should undergo palm readings & homeopathy treatment. This is NASCAR so make it Mt. Dew Extreme Homeopathy.

/what a dumbass

I have actually worked at a NASCAR track doing retail. Met Keselowski once, didn't strike me as a very intelligent person.

Keselosers a farktard. My fave was the alligator tears in the Carl Edwards incident, with bonus, "I'll put a fire suit on if I have to! He ain't gonna kill my boy!" From his helicopter pappy.

This time last year, I really liked Brad.  What a difference a year makes.

I think Brad may have hit his head. He just unfollowed @NASCARCASM. Nobody in their right mind would do that.

Something's wrong with that kid. He's been a next level douche this year. BK not the twitter guy.

Anyone watch Harvick burn all his bridges with Childress after the truck race.

Stuck at the office and couldn't find a feed. What happened?

Harvick an Ty Dillon crashed  in the closing laps then kept beating on each other under yellow and in the pits. In an interview Harvick called the Dillon brothers two rich kids with no respect and the reason he is leaving Childress.

That really makes me like Harvick.

The article's quotes aren't flattering, but Brad's tweets last night, I sort of agree with. His angle on Twitter was less "let's not do this, bad idea" and more "let's see what the measurements say before we start using them."

I admit, I'm kind of making excuses for him, but I guess if I were told that my ability to participate in races would be subject to some numerical score I don't know at present, have no direct control over, and have no real idea how it might fluctuate over time with the basic effects of G-forces and the like, I'd probably be a bit concerned, too.

It's not like NASCAR has had a rash of concussion-related issues. Granted, it's not something that has been consistently tracked either, and I'm sure some guys suffered from concussions and drove untreated. Brad's right that, in the past, plenty of guys have played hurt, a risk they knowingly accept as race car drivers. Is that the way it should stay, if things can be better and safer for all? Probably not. But should we maybe see how the measurement metrics work before curtailing title hopes for a guy who brushes the wall in turn four?

I admit I'm a bit skeptical of our modern fetish for analysis by the numbers, and that seems to be what Brad's railing against, not necessarily the presence of medicine in the sport. Though he has little fear of speaking his concerns before considering how sound-bite friendly his opinions may or may not be.

(Oh, and Brad didn't unfollow @nascarcasm...looking at his account now, and it seems to be a joke the two of them are in on, at least from the way @nascarcasm is playing it.)

I dunno.. Kahne seemed a little Batman-y a couple of weeks ago, and they let him right back on the track. The whole Fark thread was like "WTF?!".

Maybe Krashalotski thinks it's an IQ test

/was at a baby shower during the truck race
//saw a video of Harvick' s comments a few minutes after the race, it was beautiful
///whoever threw the hammer should have it shoved up his ass

I heard about the Kahne incident. But aside from that and Junior, I'm hard-pressed to think of another clear-cut situation where a driver really seemed that dazed and confused. Maybe we'd find more, but then, the harder you look for something, the more likely you are to find it.

i watched the Kahne interview live and didn't think he was injured.  he seemed like he didn't want to be interviewed.

I watched his tweets roll in and made the joke that he was violating Sec. 12-4-A.  Wonder how big of a fine he'll be getting?

2013-10-26 10:38:15 PM
This came up with Junior years ago. He got in some wrecks and the big thing his doctors told him is that the more concussions you get the less it takes to get the next one. So, it's a hard wreck the first time, not as hard the next time, and eventually every crash can be a concussion.

Also, given the amount of shiat the NFL just got about concussions, I can see NASCAR being nervous about treating it lightly.

Drivers hide them. Jr has had several. Raced through one a few years ago. Performance suffered. Gordon has had a couple. I like jr's take on it.
