Someone call Chris Sabian!!!!!

So what's the over-under on this being either someone on the squad was farking his wife, or the dude had a psychotic break.

2013-10-26 12:09:48 AM
I know they probably don't know at this point and that's why they didn't specify, but whenever I see an article about someone getting shot in the head and there's no word about whether they are dead, I l always wonder if that person is one of the lucky few...

2013-10-26 12:21:29 AM

Lsherm: lucky few...

You use that word lucky.....

I agree. The victim officer was the perps friend, but also banging his wife

Better than being dead, isn't it?

I'm hesitant to call them friends, but yeah the victim officer was nailing the perp's wife.

That depends on what your definition of better is. Not everyone ends up like gabby giffords. Most of them end up drooling in a wheelchair with a trach and a g-tube.

Sometimes dead is better.

There is no over under on a psychotic break. They're cops. It's a 1:1 chance psychosis is involved. That it happens to be illegal this time is just happy accident. Must've mistaken his partner for a non-cop.

I noticed the thread was lacking in the juvenile, content free post department. Thanks for showing up.

I'm going to bet on a slightly altered scenario where they were gay lovers and the victim decided to break it off.

2013-10-26 05:47:11 AM
I guess it was just a matter of time before they turned on each other....

Lansford police officer takes Lansford police officers hostage. Well, at least Lansford police are on the scene.

People with psychosis may have one or more of the following: hallucinations, delusions, catatonia, or a thought disorder,

Stress is known to contribute to and trigger psychotic states. A history of psychologically traumatic events, and the recent experience of a stressful event, can both contribute to the development of psychosis. Short-lived psychosis triggered by stress is known as brief reactive psychosis, and patients may spontaneously recover normal functioning within two weeks.[19] In some rare cases, individuals may remain in a state of full-blown psychosis for many years, or perhaps have attenuated psychotic symptoms (such as low intensity hallucinations) present at most times.

PTSD. You see one too many kids dead on the street in a stupid traffic accident and you snap. Suddenly, you just know your partner is Professor Moriarty and you can't prove it and there's no one to talk to but you decide to take him out on your day off because I YAM DA LAHW! and in a brief moment of lucidity you realize what you just did and what happens to cops in jail and decide to kill yourself before that happens and ta-da here's this story.

I'm not saying that's what did happen, but if walks like a duck and talks like a duck it's probably not a beagle.

If he lives, since he's a cop, he'll be charged with what? Misdemeanor assault?

So what you're saying is Lethal Weapon 5?  I'm assuming Riggs is the pitcher because I just can't see him catching...

He'll get 100 years for assaulting a police officer, then since he's a police officer he'll spend 2 years on probation.

JRoo: If police officers carried guns this never would have happened.

Seriously. Why do we let cops carry guns anyways.  They cant tell the difference between a black man wielding a wallet with his ID in it, and a paper target with a bulls eye on it.

Cops are responsible for more gun murders then any child has ever been. Not to mention their inherent racism and judgmental mentality from having to work with the shiattiest people on the planet every single day.

Hey, If bleeding hearts want to "joke" about confiscating guns, instead of storing them properly and treating the mentally ill. I can "joke" about confiscating police officers and shoving them into storage.

/It's not like I'd be able to do it. They've got way more tazers and mace then I do, and I sure as shiat ain't gonna shoot at some random stranger, cop or otherwse.

The guy was able to aim his gun at his head and shoot himself. That accuracy makes me doubt he was really a cop.

2013-10-26 08:30:08 AM
But the fark anti-gun nuts told me police were the only ones who could be trusted to have firearms. This goes against my simple black and white world view where only criminals need guns to steal from my gated community.

They only get the discount when the victim is a non police officer.  I think it is stated clearly in their union handbook.

/and they have to be still on the force
//once they leave the force, they lose their discount along with the free donut brass pin they wear on their shirts.

Can't even be accurate at that range. Cop!

Yeah, I think they are required to have a state-wide manhunt and death by fire.

What if they paid $900,000 for the town at auction?  I think they could name it anything they want.

Could have been a murder - shot in the head during a struggle - who was really the hostage / hostage taker?

I would have bet money that this was about the M'boro officer whose gun 'accidentally' went off while he was cleaning it and shot his Lieutenant on Wednesday.

I think I saw this on Hill Street Blues once.

If he doesn't have any self control, he doesn't deserve to have a gun.  He might of saved many other lives by killing himself.  On another note, never let a whore get in the way of friendship (assuming that is what happened).  Too many unstable, uneducated cops in small towns, they typically hire high school graduates fresh out of the academy.  Too many roided-up cops on the force with inferiority complexes as well.  Mental midgets.  Some start working at the local prison and "move up" in this area.  Jim Thorpe is apx 30 minutes from here.

Even "LookatmeImanattentionwhoreville"?

If I had to keep telling people "I work in Jim Thrope" and hear them laugh every time, I'd probably snap too.
