It does involve a ruler trying to manufacture an unnecessary war. Presumably in Libya. Or Syria.

I can see Ted Cruz attacking someone in a primary over their communist manifesto called "Rainbow Land."

Meh, it's a great movie.

Not nearly as weird as Paul Ryan loving Rage Against the Machine.

I saw an interview with the people in that movie.  As they were making the movie political stories kept on coming out.  That were trying to be an outrageous satire but in the end they had a really hard time exaggerating the reality of it.  When the movie was out, shiat just as stupid was being reported in the news.

No one would surrender to the Dread Pirate Raphael.

He had grown so rich, he wanted to retire. He took me to his cabin and he told me his secret. 'I am not the true heir to conservatism' he said. 'My name is Romney; I inherited the nomination from the previous Dread Republican Candidate, just as you will inherit it from me. The man I inherited it from is not the real heir to conservatism either. His name was McCain. The real conservatism has been dead 15 years and buried in Patagonia.'

Excellent.
A teenage girl in a man's body.
That actually explains quite a bit.

/And it's what made the Cylons so fracking dangerous.

I have some advice for Cuban-Canadian Rafael Cruz:

Get used to disappointment.

2013-10-25 02:16:32 PM
TPB is a safe choice.  So is Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Now if he has said History of the World, Part 1, I'd be impressed.

2013-10-25 02:18:24 PM
You guys got it all wrong. Cruz loves the movie because it's about a lone man(Wesley), making a stand against the establishment (Humperdink), and saving the economy (Buttercup), from an arranged marriage (The Fed).

Furthermore it's accented by a strong but small anti-establishment force (Fezzik and Inigo) willing to fight to the death to cast of their chains of oppression, a privatized healthcare system (Max), and investments ruled by the free market (that albino guy and the six-fingered man who get paid to push the human body to its limits.)

This movie is basically Ted Cruz's life story!

No such things.  All levels of stupidity are believable for Republicans.

Every so often an actress who is already undeniably beautiful will shine forth in one role, becoming so luminous that she makes watching the rest of the film difficult. Rachel Weisz did it in The Mummy, and Robin Wright did it in The Princess Bride.

That was Dan Quayle's favorite movie.
