Spout nonsense and get paid? How do people find these jobs? Is it just self-promotion? Is it networking? Was there a meeting where someone came up with the idea "if we talk about demons our click rate goes through the roof"?

Aleister Crowley, Anton LaVey, Simon Magus, that kind of thing.

My daily surprise of the day.

Opinion of world net daily goes even lower.  On a scale of potatoes to EinsteinJesus, they are now that little green shoot that sometimes grows out of old potatoes.

*psst* Demons aren't real. Pull your fuzzy little brains out of your ass and live in reality.

yay, another excuse to post this:

To be fair, they're only selling what people are buying. In a way, you almost can't blame them for going along for the ride. Personally, I wouldn't give them the click if it meant M&Ms shooting out of my monitor.

Now, then. Haven't seen Horror Story yet, though my step-daughter is hooked. Any good?

Love(d) them all.

I just watched this week's episode.  I don't think it opened me to demonic influence.  But it did open me up the idea of being raped by a Minotaur.

I agree. When I watch Walking Dead my penis starts moving on its own, like it's possessed.

What pisses me off is how Disney's Monsters Inc. is undermining child safety by creating a blase attitude towards the boogieman.

First season was crazy good.  Second season was kind of a clusterfark, but still entertaining. This third season has been pretty good so far.  The first episode was a little ham fisted, but it'shiatting a stride.

You know, I don't even care if they have completely different outlooks on various subjects than I do. That's part of being human.

What really bothers me is that they can't even think their own belief system through and discuss it in any intelligent manner. Ok, so Walking Dead is promoting evil...how, exactly? Specifics. How does it encourage people to uh, what's your phrase...flirt with "the occult?"

If they had any interesting theories, I'd listen. But they're intelligent enough for even theories. Just blanket assertions of absolutely no merit.

And I'll just ask, since I must have missed the thread back in the day...what was with the second season of AHS' aliens? Did I miss something, or was that kinda out of nowhere, unrelated to really anything else going on, and just kinda...there?

Yeah the beastiality and the incest were a little odd and creepy, but they grossed out my roomate a lot so that was fun, but it was a good episode. And I just heard that next season will be Jessica Langs last.

You're not wrong.  They showed up at the beginning, an episode or two in the middle, then were completely forgotten by the time the finale came around.

They tried to stuff too many hooks into that season and left a couple of them completely unresolved.  Otherwise, it was pretty decent.

Karl Payne

What? No bullshiat doctorate from some bullshiat university so you can stick "Dr" in front of your name or "PhD" at the end, like Doreen Virtue or some other charlatan?

How does a God-fearing Right Winger get to be an expect on demonology?  I'd like to see some credentials, sir, or at least some kind of c.v.

I worry more that it will propagate the use of fisheye lenses and crappy camera angles.

"Expert in Demonology"?

Well, at least you're special in your own little imaginary world.

How does a God-fearing Right Winger get to be an expect on demonology?

That's the beauty of it. None of the other Christists can say they're wrong without admitting they had some Satanic book-learnin', so they're "experts."

It would be funny if it didn't send people to prison in this country.

I love American Horror Story. This season had me skeptical at first with all the Harry Potter, but screw it, after the creepy Frankenstein incest murder, I'm good to go!

Hey they took that part right from Harry Potter, what a ripoff! I can get my roomate to laugh real hard when Cathy Bates is on the screen and I will start quoting lines of hers from the Waterboy. "Little girls is the DEBIL!!"

Ancient self-promotion for religious hucksters. Pick something popular and call it "satanic." So much easier than warning against envy or gluttony.

Does this mean American Horror Story Season 2 is going to hit Netflix soon?  The wait has been ridiculous.

Ever notice how the experts on the occult, fantasy species (bigfoot, chubacabra), aliens, etc., are all from "The Institute of __________ " or "The ___________ Institute"? And the institute" is typically mom's basement, spare bedroom, garden shed, breakfast nook?

I can't believe people still believe this stuff in 2013, going on 2014.

Read the book!

Payne was able to combat the demonic influence through techniques that he describes in detail in his book "Spiritual Warfare."

In his book
, Payne issues a provocative, biblically based challenge for all Christians...

"Spiritual Warfare" offers practical hope for the believer and help for those that struggle with the very real issues of spiritual combat...

"Spiritual Warfare" offers a fascinating Bible-based and Scripture-backed examination of demonic oppression, demonization and possession.

Payne earned his Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from Western Seminary in Portland, Ore. For over 25 years, he has offered training on spiritual warfare through his discipleship and apologetics writings.

Jesus farking Christ, how many times can they shill for this guy on one farking article?

The existence of Demons is the latest thing in  Evangelical circles. Your church not growing? Demons. Your kid wandering away from your version of the straight and narrow? Demons. Addicted to internet porn? Demons! Why preach self control and discipline when you can just blame your failings on Satan?

Now folks are walking around  "locating and naming" "demonic entities that hover over cities and individuals. We are dealing with some very stupid and very spiritually lazy people.

I don't think it's "the latest thing." They were up to the same thing in the 80s when D&D was being used as a demon gateway to teenage souls. And Slayer.
