People must be punished for electing Democrats.
Democrats must be shown to have failed at whatever cost.
This will continue to happen until there's a republican running the Senate and the White House.

Is this really news worthy?  I mean, shiatty insurance is being cancled and people have to find better insurance, that will be subsidized in some capacity, resulting in cheaper rates.

So better, less expensive insurance is coming.

What am I missing here?

Nothing except that 'less expensive' part.

Of course, businesses see the chance to get away from something they have no reason to provide. Single payer is the way to go

No it is just a shiatty law written by the insurance companies.  The Kerry plan from 2004 would have worked, but congress screwed that up.

So Texas dropping their high risk pool coverage because the same people can get better coverage for a third of the price is a made up story BY REPUBLICANS?

That's what you're going with?

Is there any reason for me to believe "conservatives" have stopped lying their asses off about all things related to the ACA?

Other than "the website sucks," which is a bipartisan consensus, I don't think I've heard one word of truth from a Republican about any of this.

Well yeah, but all those people will then buy the Obamacare health insurance, so just give it time, subby.  The numbers will move in favor of those who sign up for the new health care.

Yes, we must get to the bottom of Website OverloadGate.

How dare they not plan for the success the program had in attracting visitors to the site.

This must be exposed as the fraud it is -- People lining up to get health care. Outrage!

let's see.  None of that is true.

Insurance is being canceled that people actually demanded and purchased.  Instead, people will have to go to the exchange to find insurance they may not want.  It may or may not be subsidized based on the person.  By the way, why is it even necessary to subsidize the insurance?  If it was so good and affordable, we wouldn't need to go the subsidy route anyways.  And guess who is paying those subsidies?  Us.  The taxpayer.  So really they are paying for it from the other end because they pay the taxes that pay the subsidies they are getting.

And those without subsidies may not be able to afford the new plan at the new rates, so they lose their insurance.  They choose to pay the penalty instead.  Oh, and Obama on campaign speeches promised everyone they would keep their plans.  And now most people are losing their plans.

So what are you missing?  Everything.

It came out in the hearings yesterday that it crashed with a load of 2000 people, I would hardly call that a full load, in fact a basic GoDaddy shopping site can handle that many people simultaneously.  The fact that they had 3 years to do it and didn't start testing until 2 weeks to live proves that there are serious leadership problems in that department.  In the non-government world a failure like this costs people their jobs.  Shouldn't government employees be held to the same standard.  I'm sorry but in a country with Amazon, Ebay, and ProFlowers, it is possible to get a high traffic site right the 1st time especially with lead time provided.

Because they had plans that didn't meet the qualifications so we should expect them to start looking at their options soon, one of those being signing up on an exchange that now exists that hopefully provides a better plan for a reasonable cost.

So which is it, Bowtie?  Do I panic or am I supposed to be outraged?  I'm going to need a shove this morning.  I haven't had enough coffee yet.

James!: Couldn't these companies just update the existing policies to Obamacare standards?

No the insurance laws don't work that way, you must have an entirely new policy, a policy's terms can not change until it is time for renewal.  This law is to protect the customers, so an insurance company can't stop paying for treatment. So the policy must be cancelled and a new one taken out.

From my understanding, it would take the same amount of time to fix the system as it would to deploy a new system.  Why not start fresh and delay it until February and get a system that works instead of having a patchwork system that almost works?  I bet they could just pay Google or Amazon to create a system and have it up in less than 30 days at this point.

Obamacare is destroying my health insurance company. True, my "coverage" was you pay me $15/mo and I give you a card with the words HEALTH INSURANCE and the hotline to WKLW Best of the '70s radio station, but those people were insured and now they are not, and are going to be forced to buy far more expensive health insurance. Doesn't Obama want people to have cheap coverage?

Honestly, I am still shocked that they did not ramp up usage for the site.  So first 2 weeks if your SSN starts with a 2, you can sign up, next 2 weeks if your SSN starts with a 2 or 3, you get to sign up, and so on.

I mean, of course it is going to crash if there are suddenly millions of requests that never existed onto an inadequately deployed site.
