For some reason I seem to remember these mice from a documentary. I think they even showed them eating a scorpion. Not sure which documentary though.

Grasshopper mice have evolved biochemical pathways that thwart scorpion venom by reacting to it as a painkiller.

Thats actually really badass.  So badass they need to change the name from Grasshopper mouse to Scorpion Junkie.

Was about to ask if we were talking about grasshopper mice, and then saw the article and your post :3  (And yes, the things actually howl.  Freaking.  ADORABLE :D)
