kling_klang_bed: Over my dead body! You're not about to turn my drunken, thickheaded Irish and Scottish brethren into peaceful, thoughtful, nonviolent potsmokers with a pension for Dr. Who, prog rock and non-boiled/non-deep fried food!

Your proposal is perfectly acceptable.
Always trade up.

knobmaker: Takeshi6400: If people want weed to be legal so they can get high, then just be honest and say so.  The cynical use of other people's suffering to emotionally blackmail society into making it easier for you to get high is a little more than tacky.  I'm totally ok with weed being legal but the half baked any pharmaceutical industry bs is getting old.

Tacky?  You want tacky, how about locking people up for using a relatively harmless herb?  Getting old?  Pot has been used to lock people up and ruin their lives for over70 years.

And before that it got you tarred/feathered, a flaming lawn decoration, or hung, fer rapin' the white wimmin.

Lt. Cheese Weasel: SurfaceTension: Why are we filling ourselves with this medicinal marijuana stuff? Let's just admit we, as a society, like it and want it legal. Stop with the prescription kabuki dance already.

Won't make a damn spit of difference to folks in corp jobs of responsibility, legal or otherwise. If I care to remain on the weekly salary distribution list, I can't smoke/vape etc the debil weed.

You would think smart people, in such demanding jobs, could solve that problem.

Doh, my goof!

Anywho, I remember Craig Ferguson saying one time "I never got into marijuana. It makes you attentive, peaceful, and non-violent. And us Scottish folk can't have that, now can we!?"

I desperately need MMJ like yesterday.  I am suppose to have an eye operation in 10 days that would involve putting plastic tubes and a reservoir under my eyelid because the medical profession here deems that preferable to using a plant to control my IOP.  I'm on 4 different expensive pharmaceuticals with unpleasant side effects and have reached the maximum dosage that man-made chemicals can provide relief for.  It is still not enough.  I'm losing vision each year that I'll never get back.

Cannabis works and it works wonderfully for controlling IOP.  The unpleasant side effects, oh, wait, what?  Unpleasant?  Nah, I don't think so.  The ironic thing is that I do not smoke anymore, having quit cigarettes.  I used to smoke ciggies to hide the smell of cannabis, and unfortunately have co-joined the two habitually.  If I smoke weed, I find myself wanting a cigarette in the worst way, even though it has been over a year since my last cigarette.  Well, I should put in a slight caveat.  I haven't smoked any weed since march or april, at that point it had been 8 or 9 months since I quit cigarettes.  I ruined my mellow by fighting the urge to go to any convenience store or tobacconist and getting some cigarettes.  However, if I partake of cannabis by means other than combustion/inhalation, I do NOT get the urge to smoke tobacco.  I am perfectly fine with either ingesting it orally as a powdered additive to yogurt, or brewing it in an emulsion as tea.  I have yet to have the freedom to pursue cooking with it as I would like to do.

Hmm, consume a plant that I'm already intimately familiar and fond of, or have foreign objects with known deleterious side effects (double vision, droopy eyelids, pain) inserted in my eye?  Which should I choose?
