a Jamestown mother, penned the M&Ms petition with Jacobson's group because she found that eliminating food dyes and some preservatives from her son's diet ended his ADHD.

Yeah...

Kids are annoying anyway. So noisy, so sticky, so gross.

Red Dye # 2. Banned in the 1970s so I'm calling BULLshiat on this.

HERE COMES THE SCIENCE!!!

I'm sure it has nothing at all do to with the amount of sugar she was feeding the kid. She's a tard.

I used to work for M&M's, so I'm getting a kick out of this story.

I used to eat M&Ms all the time when I was younger, and I'm perfectly healt

i thought the problem with red food dye went away 30 years ago when they quit using red #40, or whatever the case was. i am not bothering with google. but i seriously don't believe that there is a correlation between dye and adhd.

besides, everyone knows the yellow m&ms taste best, anyway

Also, FTFA:  "The best thing to do is use common sense," he said. "Eating M&Ms occasionally as a treat is fine. Eating a pound a day is not."

You're talking about Americans here, Poindexter...

Oh shut the hell up. This isn't a thing and you're just keeping your body busy.

Red M&M's were banned for years because of this false accusation.
The author should REALLY stop listening to Jenny McCarthy and vaccinate her g'damn kids already!

"My feeling is parents shouldn't have to worry about this problem," said Michael Jacobson, executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Then don't and let your kids enjoy their Halloween loot. I can think of a lot worse things that might turn up in candy.

2013-10-24 12:01:11 PM
I'd be more worried about your kid getting diabeetus if you are letting them have enough M&Ms to worry about the dye content

Yeah...

Well if you can't trust double blind, rigorously tested evidence like that, what can you trust?

Good. Now I know what I'm giving out for Halloween.

I read this right after one of my twin toddler daughters walked up to me, trying to hand me something small, and then saying "Here DAD!  A BOOGER!" just as I took it...so...yeah.....

Unfortunately not an isolated event.

Delicious chocolaty death.

They should get rid of the green ones too because that's making the kids horny.

Couldn't they just, ya know, not eat them? It's not like Mars has a gun to anyone's head.

I love the Mars company.  Privately-held, family-owned by some of the richest people on the planet.  They are quietly living the American dream and often ignore such manufactured outrages.

It may be a Center somewhere, but it doesn't use Science and it's certainly not in the Public's interest.

It's not the red dye, but the sugar that turns kids into The Great Cornholio.

Funny story...  While I was working at M&M's, someone had sent a yellow peanut M&M to the corporate headquarters with a note...  The note explained the following:

Each time this person took two M&M's out of the package, she would hold one in each hand, and try to squish them.  Whichever did not squish first was set aside.  After the entire pack was finished, one M&M remained.  It was sent back to corporate in hopes that that one M&M, having been stronger than the rest, should be used for breeding of new ones.

//I thought it was funny.

Dear Monster Energy Drink Company,

Could you please remove the caffeine and sugar from your drinks?  After my son drinks 7 of them he is very hyper.  As such your drinks have been linked to hyperactivity and ADD.

Thank you,

Starbucks was using carmine in their strawberry frappes, and wound up getting in trouble when Jewish and Vegan groups found out.

Apparently, cochineal lice aren't Kosher. Who knew?

I thought it was the blind rage of being served "healthy snacks & veggie sticks" all the time.
You just know that Junior is going to scissor-kick helicopter-mum in the head when he's tall enough.

But she noticed that whenever her kid ate these sugary foods which contained artificial dyes, the kid went apeshiat. Therefore, artificial dyes = hyper kid. Its scientific.

She also conducting a similar experiment. She put a hammer, a bag of kittens and an extremely violent special needs boy in a room together. When all the kittens were killed, she declared war on the hammer.
