Is there an equal rights angle?

"He wasn't violent at all. He was really the opposite of aggressive."

Apparently you are wrong.

Going to be extra outrage cause she's cute.

FTFA: He was last seen at the local Hollywood Hits movie theater. A manager there said he had bought a ticket for a 4:30 p.m. showing of the Woody Allen movie "Blue Jasmine."

Anybody who would go see a Woody Allen movie is a sicko.

Bad week for math teachers.

So sad. She was only 24 years old and she was well liked by mostly everyone. That kid should be charged as an adult and I hope he's found guilty and put away for life. I really don't want to know why he committed this crime.

2013-10-24 09:33:17 AM
*yawn* another senseless killing, he showed no emotions but "Wasn't violent at all". Yeah this is the hallmark of a serial killer, its a crying shame we can't have public executions, maybe these assholes would think twice about it.

I guess prison isn't as scary as most would think considering how many murders happen daily.

Oh, by the way the cause of death was he cut her up with a box cutter. Other stories mentioned it. Happened in Danvers. If only there was some type of Danvers Mental Facility he could be sent to. Well there used to be one.

There's a good chance you won't get caught. Like the guy out in Gilgo Beach or the zodiac killer. If you're prepared to do that to somebody I'm sure prison doesn't scare you anyway.

Prison isn't a deterrent, it's a punishment.

Or perhaps deterrents based on fear don't work that well, because very few people commit a crime *expecting to get caught*.

If deterrent is the motive behind the punishment, it doesn't work very well...

People do things they want to do if they either a) think they can get away with it, or b) don't care about consequences.  Usually a) is true.  When b) comes into play, we're either talking about a sociopath, or a person who has given up on life.  There is no punishment that will deter b), and any potential punishment does not apply to a), because they are going to get away with it (in their mind at least, if not in reality).

Then there's recidivism to consider...

Ok.  I don't usually feel this macabre, but this is my spin...

They had been secretly dating, young athletic soccer player, and freshly professional young woman.  He may may have gotten her pregnant and maybe she didn't want to terminate the pregnancy.  He was a young urban youth with a future, so many plans.  A box cutter suggests it was a crime of opportunity and passion.  The Woody Allen movie?  It was the last good memory that he had of their secret relationship and he wanted to grasp that feeling before killing himself later.

I just don't understand why someone would kill a human, I know society sucks and I can't even trust the person next to me in this day and age. I once had a pastor tell me he can be trusted after I told him I walked away from the catholic church when I was 15. (I had to do the marriage council classes).  I was almost taken in, until three weeks later he was busted for stealing from the church. Gives me more reason to hate society that does nothing to fix this problem.

We have no problem bombing other countries, but our own country is plagued by violence and nothing gets done.

Nina_Hartley's_Ass: Blood in second floor bathroom, body in the woods. Seems like a long walk for someone bleeding to death.
Strange story.

She didn't walk there. He put her there:

Some details from Tuesday night's tragic events have started to emerge with many students saying that the killer hid inside the school after class before killing Miss Ritzer.

It is believed that he used a craft knife stolen from an art classroom to attack the math teacher after forcing her into a second-floor bathroom.

One boy told how dedicated Miss Ritzer, who had been a teaching assistant up until 12 months ago, had only stayed late in school because she wanted to mark quizzes she had given out to her students that day.
The student said: 'She was such a great teacher and she worked really hard. She had set some math quizzes that day and I guess she had stayed late to mark them.

'Apparently the boy hid in school after class, he didn't go home at all. Then I heard he forced her into the bathroom and attacked her with a knife from the art room.

'People are saying he then dragged her down the stairs and got rid of her body in a recycling bin. No one has any idea why he did it. It is a tragedy.'

Police sources earlier revealed that Chism was seen on surveillance footage dragging a recycling bin with Miss Ritzer's body through the halls of the high school and dumping her remains in the woods near campus.

Where did he get the box cutter he used to kill her?  Did he steal it?  Was it registered properly?  I just can't believe that box cutters are so easy to get, especially after 9/11.  We really need some legislation to outlaw them altogether, or at least make the blades really dull so they can't be used to cut someone.

School had 130 cameras. Once again proof that cameras cannot prevent crimes, they only show you the aftermath of them. Columbine had tons of cameras too.

People either commit crimes in the heat of the moment, not thinking of the consequences, think they wont get caught or they don't care/think it's worth the risk. If prison was a deterrent we wouldn't have so many people in them.

Like the old saying, locks only keep honest people honest, prison only deters law abiding people from doing what they already know they shouldn't do.

Yes they do.

They just don't consider them the same as you or I.

Note how they are concerned enough to try not to get caught.

Your logic of how proof works is hugely flawed.

The continued existence of some crimes does not imply no crimes are prevented.

True. But if someone wants to commit a crime and doesn't give a f*ck about cameras they will do it anyway. I was just making the point that when a school shooting or other tragedy happens there is a knee jerk reaction to install cameras because "They will keep our kids safe!" when in reality school shootings and other violence can still happen, as seen here.
