I like you! I love Sirus radio and am a huge Jason Ellis fan! I have a hard time with that genre of music but I'll try.

Actually, I do a Monday night "New Music Monday" show where I play only new and freely available stuff. I don't keep setlists for my other shows. Give me a minute, I'll post links to my previous New Music Monday sets.

They took the punk channel away. Faction has some of it but that channel is gonna become Ellis radio and the music will move somewhere new. Tim Timebomb and Friends is great and Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg is super good.

OK, here's the setlists from all my previous New Music Monday sets. Each of these is a Google Docs spreadsheet with my tracklist from that night with URLs you can download the tracks (legit, not pirated). I make no promise they're all still good, but most should be.

mine's not strictly licensed or anything, but lava lamp repairmanrecords the show and uploads it to my private website as one big mp3.    I do mine on public radio in Juneau.

yeah, I'd prefer to just come on and play two hours of music with no talking, and sometimes do that.    I like to jump genres and keep people guessing.

You'd like Chaotica's set. It's called "Whiplash". :) I tend to chatter a bit more than most, but sometimes I just kick it and play tunes without much yapping.

I love the freedom to swear that you have.   That is one thing I do not have, though I have been known to push the boundaries with the songs quite a bit.

How long have you been doing this?  What hardware/software are you using to run this out?

I've been a DJ on this station since 2010, I think. Took a bit of a hiatus. Started when I ran across it while playing EVE Online. It's mostly gamers and geeks, so I easily fell in with it.  The station is run by volunteers and it's online so no FCC issues. We do have to be covered under licensing agreements (the station owner has a licensing agreement with his country's equivalent of ASCAP, which has bilateral agreements, I gather).

The software I use is SAM Broadcaster, and I currently use a Shure Beta58a and a Behringer mixer for my sets. I'm also a professional VO in real life so I have a bit of gear and software kicking around that I use.

Nah, just talking here and IRC. Not much to do when I'm not yapping or queuing up something. :) Good to talk with someone else who does a show!

sweet.   I've been doing my show since I think 2007.   I use drag my busted ass laptops or hell, my smart phone in to the studio and do the show.   I throw a lot of delta blues or old spirituals in with butthole surfers and zz top and venetian snares, beer advertisements from the 60s, german country trucker music, marching bands, jazz, exotica, bluegrass, funk, really whatever I've been listening to.

2013-10-23 01:52:44 AM

soosh: where do you find these remixes?

Most are from my New Music Monday set, because it's all free music and a lot of the stuff you can get for free is remixes and bootlegs. I scour sites like cavemansound.com, Chubby Beavers, Earmilk, Free Breaks Blog, Hypem.com and SoundCloud every Monday night and get two hours of new and interesting stuff (or at least stuff that sounds interesting to me!). The better stuff I keep around. :)
