It is clearly because the GOP didn't go far enough,  that it didn't stick to its guns.

Conservatism cant fail you, only YOU can fail conservatism!

It's really a 47% thing.  You wouldn't understand.

If the goal of the Defund movement was to rally support for Obamacare by making Republicans look like tone-deaf extremists unfit to govern, then the Defund movement was a huge success.

Perhaps America has figured out that since the same shiatheads are always loudly wrong about everything, anything said shiatheads oppose must be pretty good.

Perhaps.

FTA: "Hundreds of thousands have been notified they can't keep their current health plan"

Because their company now offers a different (and from what I've seen in the news, better) health plan through the exchange(s).

FTA: "Millions have seen their premiums rise"

And their coverage improve....

FTA: "and the website those without insurance were supposed to use to buy mandated health insurance isn't working"

This is probably the biggest problem, but the fact that state exchanges - those that cooperated with the federal government - are having very little problems counters this argument. It's not working as a result of those who are vested against the success of the ACA who tried everything they could to ensure it wouldn't work. Besides, the technical problems are completely fixable, and premiums will continue to decline over time as more people enroll.

Maybe because the Republicans secretly WANTED people to like it more, considering that it's their brain child, after all.  And with all the liberals repeating that fact over and over again, it will be fresh in everyone's brains when the Republicans pull a doublethink stunt and say it was really their idea and they in fact supported it all along.

There is a very fair argument to be made that while what you say is true, the ACA was not sold with this caveat.

Well if you hadn't thrown your little hissy fit, the only thing the national media would be talking about right now is the terrible website.

But instead, you decided that you wanted A LOLLIPOP RIGHT NOW!!!! and the media focused on your snot filled screaming fit until the majority of the bugs were fixed.

Obama dropped this PR touchdown on your one yard line, and you didn't even decided to punt, you wandered away and started a cricket game in the parking lot.

And really , the non functioning technological aspect of it was to be expected, and forewarned about. The main part is to make sure it's ready to go by the new year.

The lack of self awareness amongst most conservatives is just stunning. I constantly get asked why I'm registered Dem when I'm a fiscal conservative. Crap like the hissyfit of a shutdown we just got done with is why.

2013-10-22 04:59:06 PM
Yep! And by the time 2014 elections come around it will be even more popular because people will have actually gotten to use it. Emergency rooms will be able to provide better care because they wont be clogged by people who cant get seen anywhere else and everyone will either have lower premiums or much better coverage or both.

So yeah - you guys keep pushing to repeal it. Keep reminding us that if you get in power you're going to take away our healthcare and put nothing in it's place except laws regulating what we do with our reproductive organs. Its a genius plan that cant possibly fail.

and just the other day one of my teahaddist acquaintances was telling me that the shutdown as a 'victory'.  I suppose that was true, from a certain point of view.  it sure seems to have turned out well for Obama anyways.

They can't admit error or policy defeat without it being "rigged" or "stolen" from them.  To do so invites examination of the error(s) and the TEA Toddlers can't do that without indicting the entire movement.  When your ideology is that inflexible any deviation is unacceptable.

He must have been listening to Ann Coulter who said the shutdown was "magnificent" and run "beautifully"

If Jesus showed up and stated that Ted Cruz is evil incarnate and spends his spare time noshing on Satan's Johnson rod, they would deny it.

...and most likely declare Jesus a sekret muslin.

"Given these facts, you'd think support for Obamacare would be collapsing. But it's not."

I can think of a couple of reasons...

A. Your people who had their plans" canceled" didn't really have their pans canceled, their insurers set up a NEW plan that falls in love with the ACL. Not even close to the same thing.

B. Everyone's insurance premiums go up, so that's nothing new.

C. The Shutdown was seen as a publicity grab by a desperate Right Wing.

D. The "examples" of people supposedly ruined for life by Obamacare are turning out not to just be fabrications, but really bad ones.

And finally:
E. Your followers aren't anywhere near as stupid as you think they are.
