Welcome back, one and all, to the trivia game hand-crafted in Hank Scorpio's volcano lair and written in blood on the skin of a kitten the host personally strangled to death. I don't expect you to get these questions right, Mr. Farker, I expect you to die. Muahahahahahaha.

11 questions this week in 3 categories - Whose Line is it Anyway?, Penalties and Press X to Jason. As always we'll have an answer sheet at the end of the quiz so you can copypasta your answers and show us how smart you are. Alright, enough 'splainin. Let's jerk this smokewagon and get to work.

Whose Line is it, Anyway?

1. 24/34 for 240 yards, 1 INT, 6 carries for 28 yards and a TD, 1 reception for -4 yards.
2. 34 carries for 104 yards, 1 reception for -2 yards
3. 10 receptions for 138 yards, 2 Touchdowns

Penalties

1. Which team has been called for the most penalties, leading the next closest by 10 penalties and having two players ejected?
2. Which unlikely special teams player was called for a horse-collar tackle and still allowed a TD this week?
3. Which team has both caused the most false start penalties, and also committed the most false start penalties?

Press X to Jason

Who are these Jasons?

Seriously though.... do we see a game where Jacksonville gets within a TD?   That game might be one of the few (vs. Hou, vs. Buffalo, @ Cleveland).... maybe Arizona?

Not that hard to be top when you get 20 in a single game =P.

The right answer to the false start was surprising though, considering I based my answer on that game where the Raiders put up 5 (thought it was more, but apparently 5 fs and 5 delay of games).

in my plea to bench Carson Palmer for the admittedly untested Drew Stanton, I will invoke not one, but two battle-tested taos:

1)  The Tao of Bill Parcells:  "once a player shows you who he is, don't argue with him."
2)  The Tao of Denny Green:  "[he] is who we thought [he is!]"

through 7 games, Palmer has shown us who he is.  While the O-line blows, and according to Arians, receivers are still running the wrong route(s), leading to some INTs, we're in Week 8.  Rightly or wrongly, Palmer bears the brunt of the criticism for the offense's ineptitude.  Now, 3-4 is nothing to celebrate, but the thing is, the wild card is not out of the realm.  Stanton was signed to a 2 or perhaps 3 years deal.  Palmer is not turning into Kurt Warner v2.0.

the offense needs a spark, we have the extended post-Thursday break to get Stanton up to speed.  I've said for weeks now, is Arizona buying or renting Palmer?  The answer is clear.  Time to see what the organization's belief for 2013 an dbeyond is, and I do not think Palmer is the answer.

/aslo, Kurt Warner was quoted saturday or sunday that he thinks Arians' plan to have Fitzy learn the slot routes is not wise.  The quote was something like, "Larry's strength is the deep route, the sideline routes.  Making him run the interior slot routes takes away from what makes him great, the ability to outwork defenders...."  And even Fitzy has been mildly critical of his new slot responsibilities.

Seriously, 8 at home and only 5 away.  That's bad.  Same with the delay of game penalties (which they are also beating the raiders in), 4-2.  Fans needs to shut up, lol.

did we not release every QB taken under Whiz, and when we signed Stanton (prior to he Palmer acquisition), did Arians not say Stanton was his guy?  (Actually, i think lindley or lindsey is 3rd on the depth chart, or at least was going into Week 1, but i don't know if he's there now.)

3-4 in an elite conference, with this defense, is not great but, we can't waste this defense on shiatty offensive play.  simplify the rulebook, get some new blood in there, but most of all realize Palmer is who he is - his best days are behind him and he's not he solution in 2013, much less 2014 and beyond.

Either switch to a West Coast offense and do quick, short passes, or get a new O line. Palmer is ok if he has time. Or not. Either way, it sucks to see a good Cardinals D wasted on that O.

Both correct. Well done. I had to double check that Chris Ivory number, I thought it was a typo. 34 carries.

Did you miss Matt Barkley's performance? He was gunning for the Jake right out of the gate. He had 3, should have been 4 if not for a penalty, and if he had started the game he would have put in a Double Delhomme with nobody to replace him.

Those are a lot of words I think have something to do with being a Cardinals and not a Raiders fan, who suffered under Palmer for 2 years.

Check out the Cards' SB Nation blog. It had a great article on how they missed opportunities on offense against the Hawks. Badly thrown balls, missed blocks, bad routes, bad rushing decisions, Palmer not even bothering to look downfield, etc.

Not to mention that working Fitz in the slot and over the middle when you play at least 4 games against brutal defenses that boast some of the hardest hitting safeties and linebackers in the league might get him killed.

yes!  when he was brought here, every sporswriter in town printed or talked about the last time the organization brought in a formerly elite, older QB with the proverbial "something to prove" chip on his hsoulder.

for the record i have hated on palmer for 2-3 years.  he had that one or two Pro Bowl season in like, 2005 or some shiat, and has steadly regressed.  I didn't like bringing him in, but he's here.  3-4 and we should be arguably 5-2.  not all his fault.  but this is the ultimate production league.

you get 16 chances.  we only have 9 left.  he's not getting any younger.  the team has an untested quantity under contract.

pull the damn trigger, Bruce.

the only comments i'm aware of where after a game circa week 3 or 4, where Fitzy said something like, "i'm learning a new position, and we're gonna have some growing pains out there but hopefully we can get on the same page".  thing is, this was after a game where his line was like, 5 targets, 3 catches, 0 TDs.  he's not coming out and saying he's in the wrong position, but, the numbers don't lie.  the last few games he's not been a huge factor. i bet his season high is like, 6 catches.
