The largest blaze has a 190-mile front

"We are worried these [three] fires have the potential to join up and become a mega-fire," New South Wales Fire Inspector Andrew Luke told NBC News.

So... what the fark do you call a fire with a 190-mile front? A small blaze? I realize this is Australia, but still.

From the pictures in the article, it looks like there's a Carnival Cruise ship in Sydney Harbor.  No wonder everything's going to hell in a hand basket

Shove some sharks in that fire, and you have a guaranteed greenlit "script" by SyFy.

/Because nothing SyFy produces can accurately be described as having a real script.

An 11-year-old boy was among the arrests and has since been charged with "two counts of intentionally [causing a] fire and be reckless as to its spread," the New South Wales Rural Fire Service said.

kg2095: Slaves2Darkness: Global Climate Change says maybe you should not be living in Austria.

The newly elected Australian prime minister is of the opinion that 'global warming is crap'. One of the first things he did when he took office was to dismantle any government committees that had been set up to look at ways to counter climate change.

Another clueless labor/greens voter... Sigh.

The climate change department was merged with another department that deals with the Environment. As it should have been in the first place.

The government's position is that climate change exists and should be dealt with through incentive, not punishment.

Get your facts straight before you mouth off.

I live 6km (3.75 miles) from one the biggest fires.

I've been wanting to leave Austria and go back to England for years now, but I have several elderly relatives here who depend on me.

There's nothing wrong with Austria if you're suited to it, but I just don't feel like I belong here. And it's too farking hot - even in winter.

Well don't get your lederhosen in a bunch about it.
