Fast and Furious 7?

If they keep this up it'll soon be "Fast and Furious 22: 45 in the Fast Lane"

He should do a buddy comedy with Vin Diesal.

My theory is that for 20 years Jason Statham won't say "no" to any script put in front of him.  After that he's going to retire and that will be it.  Gone for good.

Watched Parker the other night.  Entertaining, but mostly disposable.  Good to see Vic Mackey in a movie where he doesn't have a giant rock dong.

IIRC, he wasn't even an actor, he just lucked into a role in Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, then rolled with it when he got offered more acting work afterwards.

He probably knows he's a terrible actor and is planning on making as much money as possible before the studios realize.

He's not. He's actually filling the void left by those two. He's milking it for all it's worth, playing to his limitatations, and I salute him for it.

Even though I don't think I've even seen one film of him where he's the star, Transporter-style.

Oh man. I like both of them a lot, but that movie just didn't work for me.

You can't make both the leads play unlikable characters at the same time.

I'm with ya....and Melissa McCarthy herself may not be funny, but the characters she plays are usually pretty god damned hilarious

/except the shiatty Mike and Molly thing...that show sucks monkey ass

It didn't suck, but it also didn't come anywhere close to it's potential given the leads.

The Blind Side is one of the few times I've ever watched a movie twice back to back.

He was an athlete (diving, at or near olympic level from what I remember) who was struggling to make ends meet so he took up a side job selling bootleg purses and shiat. Someone involved in the production saw him and thought he looked 'thug' and boom. now he's an action star.

was it hard to understand what you had just seen?  or could you simply not believe that you had watched that piece of shiat and had to watch it again to be sure?

Because DAMN.

/why are they still putting chunky here in movies?  Isn't the "Melissa McCarthy is HILARIOUS" meme over?
//she is ok as a supporting character, ala her role in Gilmore Girls, but MAN she just can't carry a film, and the biatch isn't funny.  AT ALL.  OMG I'M SO FAT isn't really funny.

Christ, "Mike and Molly" and now Honey-Boo-Boo and this Rebel Wilson person represent the not-very-subtle creep of the fatfark subspecies of humanity into the mainstream.

The fat end of the wedge, if you will.

How are the morbidly obese supposed to learn self-respect and strive for physical fitness without public shaming and frequent beatings?

We are at a tipping point in human evolution, and if the fatties split off into their own species, I'm not going to waste my life taking care of them, I'm hunting them for sport and lamp oil.

Where the hell are you gonna hunt fat people?  The drive thru?  There's no sport in that.  Besides, there's no such thing as an old fat person; you don't support them.  It's those cancer survivors you have to worry about.  Susan G. Komen?  More like Susan G. Headshot.  Right?

/She's not the best, but I enjoy the comedy stylings of Melissa McCarthy and her willingness to sell out for a joke.

I'm sure they only gave her the Oscar for that role out of some sense of whimsy or perhaps irony.

they gave her that oscar because it was time she got one.  it certainly was not for her performance in "poor black folks just can't get ahead without whitey's help, Part One".

next you'll tell me jethro tull deserved that farking grammy for best metal performance.

I dont hate the movie because it is popular. I hate it because it is insulting and because the "true story" is almost totally bullshiat.

And Melissa McCarthy's schtick is already getting old.

He's not a terrible actor. I don't think he even acts, honestly. And the studios know that. He's just a martial figurine with charisma and a nice accent.

Now Segal? THAT was a shiat actor. I have no idea how people sit through that shiat. God awful acting, and the action scenes are worse.

I would agree that between the two Statham does operate with a lot more self-awareness (or at least he publicly exhibits more self awareness).
