Figured the article would actually have some details.  Not just, remember Wimpy's? Whatever happened to them?

There are plenty here in Ontario.  Whether they're related to the ones in the UK or other, I don't be knowing.

And they're way better than McDonalds, not that that is difficult.

I don't know about Wimpy's, but I remember Gino's fondly.

I know what happened to them: they gave away too many hamburgers today with the promise that they'd be paid on Tuesday.

As I understand it, Wimpy's originated in the UK, and developed the fast food concept independent of McDonald's which is why you get minor variations like cutlery. They used to have the national contract for running rest stops on the motorways, but most of those converted to Burger Kings some time in the late 80s or early 90s. I tried a Wimpy burger about two months ago and it was one of the most farking disgusting things I've ever eaten. Right down there with the canned cheeseburger I was served on a British Rail train back in '95.

hogans: I don't know about Wimpy's, but I remember Gino's fondly.

I'm right by the Bensalem location.  Good for what it was but it wasn't meant to be.
