Disabled, gay atheists

That's some quality headline trolling.

2013-10-21 04:27:09 PM
Gaytheism is the biggest threat to our national parks, won't someone think of the children?

2013-10-21 04:27:35 PM
"Gay-theists"?

2013-10-21 04:28:28 PM
leave only footprints. take only memories!

2013-10-21 04:28:41 PM
Wouldn't a gay-theist be a gay theist?

2013-10-21 04:30:04 PM
I have no problem with Gays and I have no problem with Atheists - but Gay Atheists!!  That is where I draw the line.

2013-10-21 04:31:03 PM
I heard their new slogan was "take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but destroyed treasures"

2013-10-21 04:31:22 PM
Asshats is what they are.  Best part is the guy doing the pushing supposedly had filed a full disability claim that he was no longer able to work.  Let's hope there is some criminal fraud action on that one.

Did I mention they were all asshats?

2013-10-21 04:31:34 PM
Next up is peeing your initials into the Nazca Lines?

2013-10-21 04:31:50 PM
Well, they MUST be gay. They filmed themselves getting their rocks off in public.

/I never record anything I do. I have no idea why anyone would make a recording of them destroying public property and laughing while they do it. Then post it to a GLOBAL portal.

2013-10-21 04:32:19 PM
Say what you want about the tenets of gay atheism, but at least it's an ethos.

2013-10-21 04:32:46 PM
They obeyed the Dumbass Environmental Motto:

Take nothing but carbon footprints, leave nothing behind but photographs of the damage done by you being a dumbass vandal.

Is it just me or does that first rock look like a nose? That's one fat nose goblin there, guys.

2013-10-21 04:32:55 PM
He potentially saved somebody's child from a grusome death being crushed like a grape under a falling rock and THIS is the thanks he gets?

Get real, its not like he spray painted his name or anything.

Its just a rock, its still there, and you can still go see it.  It's just safer for all involved.

2013-10-21 04:33:02 PM
Nice one, subby.

2013-10-21 04:33:11 PM
Well, that explains things perfectly.

2013-10-21 04:33:47 PM
You know, you can't blame them for everything.

2013-10-21 04:33:54 PM
Somehow the article left out a big reason why this is really farked up; you have to watch the video to find out. Turns out this exposes one of the scout masters as a fraud.

2013-10-21 04:35:03 PM
I don't understand what they could possibly charge them for. It's a rock for pete's sake. What they did was stupid, but it was going to happen on it's own. I do concur with the scouts though. They failed to lead by example and acted the fool.

2013-10-21 04:35:57 PM
"Webelos wobble but they don't shove at national treasures until they fall down" should join the Boy Scout Oath as lesson number one.

Amatuer. Motorcycles and off-road vehicles are the preferred way to destroy ancient Peruvian treasures.

Destruction of state park property. Big no-no.

That rock was asking for it.

2013-10-21 04:39:17 PM
What I find especially galling is their attempts to spin it into "we were just worried about the kids" even though in the video, which is freely available for anyone to watch, they're clearly doing it because "Hurr derp! I dun made that there rock fall down the hill! High five!".

Asshats.

Well except that those are CUB Scouts, but sure.

I don't get the big uproar over this.

Those rocks were probably going to fall on their own in the next 5-20 million years anyway.

I got kicked out of the Cub Scouts for eating Brownies.

By the same logic, it's OK to murder the elderly.

Half Dome was going to erode away anyway, so I went ahead and rented some howitzers and fired shells at it for an afternoon. Hope no one minds.

Now, let's just be honest with ourselves for a moment here: we all wanted to see that rock slip backward and crush at least some portion of the idiot.

I'm guessing they are Mormon because of the Scouts thing.  They're all Mormons in Idaho, anyway.

You are comparing a rock to a person? I thought people who dressed their dogs in sweaters were bad.

2013-10-21 04:43:34 PM
As an Eagle Scout, I would like to be the first one to toss a right hook into one of these primitive screwheads.

Is assholes like this that make the entire BSA look like a bunch of assholes.
Maybe it was just my experience, but not all of the members are assholes.
Ok. Well, Maybe my group was the lower percentage to the rule.

Those rocks can't be more than 6000 years old.

I hope this guy has a long string of lawsuits and investigations coming his way for the next couple of years.

Now I know what my Halloween costume for this year will be! I'll just wear my Goblin Valley State Park T Shirt, and push things over.

A friend and I had this exchange the other day about the subject:

Him: "I just legitimately think there's nothing worth preserving at that park. Not that it means I approve of vandalizing it, per se... but I also find it hard to be particularly upset about people destroying something I see as not worthwhile in the first place. "

Me: "Welp. Some of us do find it worthwhile."

The point being that some people like to see nature change on its own, and some just don't care at all about it. The constant struggle, I suppose...
