Well, Chiefs were 2-14 last year, so there's a story in and of itself.

Charles, who finished with 123 yards from scrimmage Sunday, and O. J. Simpson, in 1975, are the only players in N.F.L. history with at least 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in each of the first seven games of a season.

He has still not killed his ex-wife, however.

The last time the Chefs went 9-0, my Bengals beat them, and they exited the playoffs early. Peyton beat them!

Come week 11 they play Peyton and the Broncos in Denver. Between now and then, they have the Browns at Arrowhead, then off to Buffalo to stomp the Bills and a bye week before Denver. They could conceivably be 9-0 with a bye week of preparation for Denver. Given how tough their defense is playing, they could take the Broncos to task at home.

If they do lose, they get the Broncos in Arrowhead 2 weeks later with the Chargers coming to visit in between the matchups.

/could they go 12-0 after facing Denver twice?
//their defense believes so

Being willing and happy/satisfied to lose in the playoffs is something I have never accepted. I just to have to live with it being a Viking Fan. Might explain my constant anger at my team really. I get teased by my friends for not being a Viking Fan when i am about the only one willing to consistently rip them.

Please, start Jason Campbell. Is there a Kickstarter we can donate to, to help make that happen?

Denver has the #1 rush defense in the league. Charles will not be in charge when the Sheriff comes to town. Now that the Broncos have suffered their first loss, all the pressure will be on the undefeated Chiefs.

The way I'm hearing anything out of Cleveland, the only way Campbell sees the field is if Weeden is injured, which tells you how much confidence they have in him.

#2, actually.  Not that it matters much when they also are ranked #32 in passing defense.  If you're going to let your opponent get that much pass yardage, yeah, don't expect them to run the ball much.

Here's what makes the Denver/KC games so interesting:

Points per Game Ranking, Offense/Defense
Denver: 1st/27th
KC: 14th/1st

Whatever the result, I predict that these will be both Denver's lowest scoring games, and KC's highest.  Even so, with the points they have been putting up, it means either team could win.

Do you mean over .500 team? Off the top of my head I know the Seahawks have beaten the 5-2 49ers and the 3-3 Panthers.

And of course the majority of those teams have at least played other .500 teams in a number of games, which is why none of them are 7-0. The Seahawks and Niners have lost to the Colts, the Colts have lost to the Chargers and Dolphins, the Saints have lost to the Pats, the Pats have lost to the Bengals and Jets, the Bengals have lost to the Bears...

Top 5 teams, opponents' cumulative records if they all win their next game -

KC - 16-35
SEA - 24-31

NO - 20-26
SF - 26-30

was one of best fakes I've ever seen.  Smith looks like he's teasing the Texans player, then runs it in for a TD.  It was funny in real time, but the still makes it look like the defender is so stunned that he's collapsing on his butt.

Busted play or designed? Don't care.  He got the TD either way.

Not saying a fake handoff and running it in isn't a good play, but I think you or I could have run that one in. He had so much room.

I still have no idea what actually happened.  I mean, Smith held out the ball, where the Def can see it, almost taunting.  I mean, if they can see it so easily in a "trick" play, it can't be the real ball, right?  No, so the RB must really have the ball, 'cause this other thing, it can't really be happening...

*shakes head*

Busted or planned play, it is so the right thing to claim that was how it was meant to run the entire time.

I'd buy it. They have a good defense and some playmaking talent. If they were getting any kind of QB play they'd probably be 4-3 right now, maybe 5-2. Plus they're setting themselves up nicely to solve the QB and RB problems in the draft next year.
