Interesting. The Blue Jackets both lost to the Caps and beat Vancouver on the same night. That's one hell of a double-header.

I'm kind of surprised the Red Wings went up after the loss to the Coyotes.  Still, we beat Roy and the Av's (spit) and we're top 10 in the power rankings.  We'll see how long that lasts, though.  I'm kind of worried about this team.

Anyway, for you fans of the Hockey Night in Canada opening montages, here is Saturday's:  Pearl Jam - "Sirens."  The rest of the ones from this season (and a number of others) are archived on the You Tube page of the guy who makes them.

It's looking like St. Louis is going to be a thorn in the Hawks' side this season. I hope it motivates them to kick things up a notch.

Still, they've had a decent start to the season, even if they aren't going to just chew through the opposition this time.

The line I said was from Slap Shot (of course).

I was at the Coyotes/Red Wings game, which was awesome. The Red Wings showed a lot of teeth and insanely accurate play, but fell apart. People forget that the Coyotes are a reactive team that don't really bother showing up until they're scored on. Also, Smitty is amazing.

Suspensions have come in:

Cody McLeod for boarding Kronwall: 5 games (injury, history and probably reduced due to Kronwall putting himself in position)

Michael Grabner for hitting the head of Gerebe (sp?): 2 games (no prior history, no injury)

As a Coyotes fan, I strongly contest the bolded part. With Tippett coaching, the team is well above .500 when scoring first and well below .500 when giving up the 1st goal. It's not even close.
