I've lost 4 of my first 5 picks. Worst year ever...

"We hate to lose anybody, but this one stings," Pagano said. "You just don't replace guys like 87. But he'll be back, I know how he's wired. I know how his DNA is.

"After the conversation I just had with him, wait and see. We'll all put on the clothes for Reggie and we'll help him get it back," Pagano said.

So ... Pagano has a crush on Reggie and wants to man nurse him back to health. Got it.

Forgive my ignorance, but that sounds like two full rosters of guys gone before even half of the regular season.  I think that while the athletes are getting bigger, stronger, and faster the reality is that brains, bones, ligaments and tendons are still made of the same old-school materials and are wilting under the strain.

2013-10-21 01:28:53 PM
yeah it was pretty bad yesterday.  cushing, cutler, finley, wayne, bradford....yeesh.

i thought i saw a pretty bad helmet-to-helmet in Chiefs/Titans, off a punt or some such.  Chief caught the ball, got CRACKED by a texan, and on replay it seemed HtH.  wonder if that gets flagged.

Pats have to be kicking htemselves.  They gave that game away.  Gronk was ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so very close to housing it, on a one-hand catch he just missed.  the penalty seemed kinda weak sauce but, they let that one slip away.  also loved that one replay of Brady after a crucial missed catch, screaming "CATCH THE farkING BALL!"  that was funny.

2013-10-21 01:33:24 PM
As far as Wayne is concerned - that's the one game the had to win this year and he gave his body up for it.  Nobody gives a shiat from here on out in Indy.  They proved getting rid of Manning was the right thing to do.

That was the Titans punter laying on the hit. I don't think he counts...

At least the penalty wasn't a "if it weren't for that we would have won it" situation.  If it weren't for that call, they'd remain in overtime... period.

Yes but there is this whole "playoff" thing in the NFL.

no, i know what hit you're talking about, but it wsan't that one.

the freakign chiefs are 7-0.  wow.

who would have thought that through week 7, the Chefs would be undefetaed and NYG winless?

Yeah, looks like it was a fortunate time to have a bye week, Saints, lol.

I really appreciated the "Son of a biatch, COME ON!" yell that was evident at one point following a drop.

Too bad we didn't all find out the existence of this rule last week when they did it then too, haha.  Oh well.

Denver might be more dangerous as a wild card team, if they can get some away games in domes. If my sources are right, Manning is 0-4 in playoff games played below 40 degrees.
Unfortunately for them, Indy looks like the only dome they might get.

i didn't see that one but yeah, there were a number of shots of Brady yelling at pepole, on the field and sideline.  and a shot of i think Logan Mankins destroying the O-line.

geno had that stupid INT but, man, the young fella made some big league throws (and runs) yesterday.  65,000 people shouting "GENO, GENO, GENO!" kinda says it all.

yeah, crazy.

cool season though.  some new blood coming up and some traditional strong teams foundering.

I still don't understand how Charles' hit on Cushing was legal. He dropped to his knees and went straight for Cushing's legs. I didn't think they could do that.

/Cushing's got a broken fibula and torn LCL

Time for DARPA to start working on the Weapon X program.

Luckily we've got the bye week which should give Foster time to heal that hamstring.

I say keep Schaub out even if he's healthy and let Keenum play. The kid did pretty damn good for his first professional game ever, especially going against one of the best defenses in the league.

i watched the game, but missed that play.  i saw the aftermath when they were working on him on the sideline, but can't say it if wsa dirty or not.  i did see charles apologize via twitter and cushing respond, saying it was a clean nfl hit, so....

I'm a Denver fan and I can tell you that the NFL caught onto Denver during the Jags game.  Oddly enough, if you just farking cover Denver receivers they won't be wide open.  When they are covered Manning is useless.  Fox is a pussy who still tries to run at least one down in four, so it's a throw away effort.   Add any other factor like weather or karma into the mix and Denver is done.

Whatever Dumberville wanted - should have been paid.

Yea, I just read that. I have a lot of respect for Charles and Cushing. And looking at it, it was a cut block, not a chop. Legal, but man I can see that move ruining a lot of other players seasons too.

Am I the only one who thought Manning injured his shoulder last night? He was on the sidelines throwing and grimacing in the 3rd quarter, then had a LOT of wobbly, zip lacking passes the rest of the game.

Also, Denver's O-line is questionable at best.

I'm seriously down to Aaron Rodgers and Eric Decker from my oringinally drafted team. Randall Cobb, Reggie Wayne, Stephen Jackson, hell I've forgotten 2 more. Was playing Martin because of the other RB I lost.

Wayne is out, Cutler is out, Bradford is out... I haven't seen carnage like this since the Great Trampoline Disaster of '93!

Schaub?  His being out is one of the good things.  Never let him back on the field.

Forgot about Bum dying, too.  Now it's all sad.

Ya, he landed hard on his throwing shoulder just before that. I guess he managed to work it out, but I am sure he is paying for that even more than normal today.

More like;

Packers are gearing up for a SB run:

Bears have no Jay Cutler.
The Vikings suck this year.
The Lions are the Lions.

Division is already won 7 weeks in.

Congrats.

By now you know how that worked out for me.

Everyone talking about Denver being a wild card team needs to remember that KC has played the easiest schedule thus far. KC could easily lose 4 of their last 7 games, including 2 to Denver. And Indy now without Wayne and a questionable run game to begin with isn't a lock either.

2013-10-21 03:05:42 PM
Oh this week isn't over either. Tonight's game features an rb with an injury, another with a surgically repaired knee, and a kicker who has been hurt.

I was jokingly thinking the same thing. Especially with how sharp Rodgers looked with Boykin.

Wonder if Franklin is going to be used as the backfield receiver like jermichael.

No one is this stupid.

Although I am waiting for Grigson to trade the 2015 1st rounder and this year's 2nd rounder for someone like Dwayne Bowe. Have to keep doubling down on idiotic trades to win.

Losing both the defensive captain and offensive captain in the same day is a little pain for this Bears fan.  My only hope is that the offense gells around McClown and then falls appart when Jay comes back.  At least if that happens I can be entertained by the 670 crowd as they rip Jay a new one.

I had to cut apx 4 players that I took in the first 8ish rounds.  I should cut Amendola, but I have him on my roster for some reason.
