(The Atlantic Wire)   During his time as VP, Dick Cheney's doctors made modifications to his pacemaker over worries that terriorists might attempt to wirelessly hack the device and use it to kill Cheney. Why yes, that DOES sound like a Plot point from "Homeland"..hmmm   (theatlanticwire.com) divider line 45

No one ever accused Al-qaeda of tactical brilliance but I think even they would know better than to kill thier top recrutier

So does that make the Homeland storyline seem less absurd or more absurd? A lot of the complaints last year regarding Season 2 was killing the VP by changing the frequency of the pacemaker.

/personally, I have never had a problem with Homeland in any season
//hell, even the Dana storyline is kinda compelling this year

Yeah saw that on 60 Minutes yesterday. The whole time I was basically willing the man to die in my brain, but it just gave me a headache. I wish I had some Super Saiyan powers so I could channel my rage into enhanced evisceration techniques.

somedude210: ///Brody's wife though, she's as useless as the son now

My wife and I always joke about how the son gets exactly one line per show, and always a terrible line. The son is by far the most completely f*cking useless person on that show.

The daughter meanwhile looks like she's auditioning for the next series of Twilight movies.

My guess is that the writers fell in love with Brody as a complex character and kept him alive when they should have let him die at the end of season one. It would have made for a much more compelling season 2, with a different set of circumstances. The ending of the first season of 24 was brilliant for the very reason it totally f*cked you up.

I am so ashamed and embarrassed that I understood all of that. I am also going to borrow the "enhanced evisceration techniques" for something... not sure what yet, but love the phrase.

I wouldn't worry about terrorists so much as a disabled vet, who is pretty smart, and disgruntled, and has way too much time on his hands.
Yeah, Dick, you pissed off a lot more than terrorists.
That is why you need extra security, you asshole.

Dick Cheney, lol. I wonder which bunker he's hiding in today, jacking over the time he got some underling fired for no reason, or maybe thinking back on how he dodged the draft, etc.? What an example he's set.

I've never actually seen an episode of Homeland, but I hear nothing but good things. I'll have to power-watch it someday.

That said... Dick Cheney is a terrible, terrible human being and he will never be forgiven. Ever.

If I were to hack his pace maker, I'd make it beat to the whimsical rhythm and stylings of Harry Belafonte.  Would have been fantastic if he were in a tactical defense meeting and just started singing and dancing to the Banana Boat Song.  People would have thought he was incompetent to be a leader of our nation.

That's just a facile cover story.

In reality, Dick Cheney's heart was kept in an "undisclosed location (aka Raven Rock Mountain, Penn., the ultra-secret nuclear shelter, as everybody knows)" except when he was at work at which time they moved it to the walk-in security cabinet in his office, which is big enough to hold two men or Dick Cheney's heart and a heart-lung machine. Sometimes Dick Cheney would let his heart visit his family. For this purpose, a giant underground shelter was secretly built at taxpayer's expense under his suburban house causing the neighbors to complain frequently and loudly about the construction noise and the underground explosions.

But damn, you should see his wonderful collection of ancient Egyptian Canopic jars to hold his other vital organs.

He is in reality, an Egyptian Pharoah (Ramses, the one whose heart was hardened against the Israelites) and is thus the third oldest person in the US Government after Senator Bubba Imhofe-Hotep and the late Senator Strom Thurmond who keeps showing up for committee meetings even though they keep telling him he is deader than the slavery issue. He doesn't trust anybody under the age of 3000.

This also explains why Cheney often communicated with "Urrrrrrrrrrhs" like Frankenstein's Baby Boy and the body of Gerald Ford from Futurama. Holdover from his mummy days. He got used to talking without moving his lips, which froze in a permanent frown ...

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read.

Yes, Ozymandias and the Pharoah of the Bible are one and the same as Dick Cheney.

P.S. They found Dick Cheney at a Freak Show in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and unwrapped him when they hear him growl. Technically he is a Canadian Egyptian, but they keep that secret, too. Half the American Federal Government are Sekret Canadians. Forget Muslims, Cheney is a Pagan Egyptian worshiper of the Dark Lord Seth, who is mentioned in the Bible in the musical phrase:

Come Fort' my people.--Seth your God.

The French Canadian accent on that line is no accident, but that is another Dark Secret, for another day.

You'd be surprised how much of the above tissue of lies is true.

I hope the doctors modified the pacemaker to have an option dildo mode so that he can go fark himself.

The one weird fact that I got out of that interview on 60 Minutes was that Cheney wrote up a letter of resignation and gave it to Bush so if he had been incapacitated by a heart attack, Bush could have accepted the resignation and named a new VP.

So is Alan Greenspan.

The crash, you see was, caused by emotions that nobody could have predicted.  Nevermind that Greenspan thought Wall Street could do no wrong and enthusiastically encouraged the mortgage securities Ponzi scheme that blew up.

My favorite:  "You see...There is always a pattern. Enthusiasm and exuberance go up like this.  Then a panic makes it go down like this."  He's charging clients $millions for insights like that.

What? Not one asshole is going to call cheney a nutter or make a tinfoil hat reference? A couple months ago, that was the general response to the suggestion that a car could be hacked to speed into a tree.
