The dude has a farking handicapped placard.

I've written plenty of notes on douchebags in my apartment complex who park in the handicapped spot (without any placard or plate), but if they have a placard, they are allowed to be there and I don't mess with 'em.

Sure the writer of the note is a busybody tool, but the disabled guy is a BMW driver.  Seriously: is there any chance he doesn't drive like a total cock?

My mother got one of those handicapped parking things when she got both her knees replaced but then again she actually is a retiree that thinks she's got the world by the ass.  I'm sure she'd be happy to show you the business end of her cane.   She also may be hellbent for leather and have an insatiable taste for Jack Daniels and violent crime but I could be wrong.

I mean, to be fair, he does wear douche's uniform.

I see where he is coming from but doesn't seem he has a leg to stand on

At first I thought, wow, that's a pretty thorough story, like several pages long. You'd think that this 'journalist' could spend some time investigating some actual stuff, like crime in politics or, rather than full documenting some dick putting a note on a guy's car (which, if a dick move, isn't illegal).

But on second thought, maybe he was banging the BMW driver's hot wife and needed the story as an excuse to 'interview' the wife.

People need to stop being such judgemental pricks. If someone has a handicap placard, it doesn't matter if they are in a wheelchair or if they appear to be handicapped, they are entitled by law to park there.

I used to work with a guy who had MS and had a handicap placard. Most days you'd never know something was wrong with him and he rarely parked in handicapped spots but I wouldn't doubt he gets dirty looks when he does. And I am also sure he'd trade places with anyone who envies his parking privilege.

"But I could be wrong."

Oh, you don't know the half of it.

You're also a passive aggressive shiathead who jumps to conclusions.  But that's another matter.

My father looks fairly able bodied, but he has a leg circulation issue that causes his muscles to lockup and hurt like hell walking very far. It bugs me a little when he takes a handicapped spot in a non-crowded lot, where the normal parking is only a few spots away, because I think there's people who need it more (or need the wheelchair access of a larger space, etc). But then there's plenty of places where the empty non-handicapped spaces are quite a bit farther if it's busy and I've seen him get looks when he uses them there. Especially since he often walks in fine, but then limps out.

2013-10-21 12:10:20 PM
To be fair, he did take up a spot that a quinaplegic could have used.

That note doesn't seem to be doubting that the guy is handicapped.  It seems like they are either hitting on him, or just think that only the 1% can afford BMWs.

Either way stupid people being stupid isn't news, it's everyday life.  If there was an article written about me every time I interacted with stupid people I'd be a household name.

2013-10-21 12:21:43 PM
The note writer is a total douche for his failed attempt to defend people who need disabled parking spaces.  He should have done what most people do, keep to themselves and ignore everything that isn't pertinent to their own needs.  If everyone did that, this world would be a better place.

2013-10-21 12:21:49 PM
Oh no! Some random stranger was incorrectly concerned that someone was unnecessarily using a resource that this poor guy truly needs!

I've never written a note, but I am often skeptical and hostile about handicap parking usage too. I'm not sure why - in most places it looks very rare that someone with a genuine physical need would not be able to find an open space. Though I do know of a couple of people who regularly abused the placard system. No skin off my nose I guess, but it really did grindmygears.jpg.

Egoy3k: That note doesn't seem to be doubting that the guy is handicapped.

"I would love to see your wheelchair" would be a sarcastic comment aimed at a non-wheelchair user.

Not an earnest statement of enthusiasm to see the guy's wheelchair.

I've seen F250 4x4 with oversized tires and the placard and handicap license plate -- I'd argue that if you can climb into one of those, you're not THAT handicapped.

We could totally be done here. You neither know what the handicap is, nor do you have a right to know.

Gotta love the passive aggression of both parties.  Idiots.

Yeah, this is a thing among Mellinials. When they think you have violated some sense of moral justice they write you little love notes. They are just passive aggressive douche bags who think the world listens to them. Guess what you whiny babies, it doesn't and never will.

The writer said they could be wrong.  It's right there, end of story.  So why's everyone jumping on them?

Besides the douchetastic nature of their busibodiness.

I really hope every word in that last sentence is real.

Wasn't this an episode of Quads!?

Then again, I have the habit of making up TV shows in my head as a protective mechanism against watching too many TV shows.

Liz has a bad habit of parking Mort's Rolls Royce in the handicapped spot near her favorite restaurant, but the one time that Reilly parks his new Rolls Royce there, handicapped parking vigilantes do unspeakable things to his car. A lynch mob forms with torches and pitchforks (borrowed from their gardiners) and hunt down Reilly to his lair. They won't believe him when he points out that he is a quadraplegic but the Gimps are saved  when Liz makes an empassioned speech worthy of Ayn Rand on the virture of being a totally selfish SOB.

Mort's Rolls Royce gets keyed nonetheless the next time Liz parks in the handicapped spot.

That's how I remember it, although it never happened, along with the entire 3rd Season, dammit

Well, your average person who gets his panties in a bunch is a mouth breathing retard who is just pissed that someone else gets to park in the closest spot, you think that person could be bothered to even look for a "placard"? Hell, some of these people can't even figure out the whole "license plate" thing, and you want them to learn the word "placard"?

CSB:

I used to work at a retail store attached to a mall.  Every morning 3 older guys (60s or so) would wait outside the store in the parking lot until we opened our doors.  They'd come in, browse a little and then spend the next 2 hours walking around the mall to get their daily exercise.  They were pleasant enough people except every morning they all drove separately, had handicap placards and took up 3 of the 4 handicap spaces directly out front.  Keep in mind that they were usually the first people through the door and the parking lot was virtually empty.  So despite the fact that they were perfectly capable of walking around the mall for over 2 hours every single morning, they were apparently too disabled to park once space further away from the door.

Years ago I worked in an office building with a small amount of garage parking and a large amount of surface parking.

There was a very attractive young lady in our office who was in perfect health - would go to the gym every day after work - but would park her huge SUV in one of the two handicap parking spots in the garage rather than walk the extra thirty feet from the surface parking. When the building management sent out an email, she starting parking in the striped spot next to the handicap spots - the one that was there for wheelchair ramps, etc. She just assumed the world owed her.

Eight or nine months into that job someone in HR "accidentally" left a spreadsheet with everyone's salary in a publicly-accessible directory on a fileserver. This lady made far more than her peers - to the tune of like 30% more despite having no experience or college degree.

Yeah, I'm thinking affair with the boss, but who knows. I quit shortly thereafter.

The body is killer, especially for a body builder, but the face is always the victim of the over-sprayed, over-made-up habits.

Still: she's plenty fly.
