Other strippers HATE that chick.

When my best friend and I were in our early twenties, we envisioned owning a club but not being visible. Basically, it would just be an investment. We asked one of the dancers at a local club if she'd be interested in managing it for us, and she said no way in HELL would she ever manage strippers.  Lol.

Now (about 12 years later), there are too many clubs in the area. They open and close all the time. Looks like a bad investment.

Naw. She was a Lingerie model. Just like Vanna White.

Just a-wonderin'. Since this Lingerie Modelling is new to me, how much does a 30 minute session cost? I'm sure tipping is encouraged. The writer says three customers a day was normal.

Me? If I want a lingerie show, I'll go to American apparel's website and mouse over the color options for the thong butt shot of the bored wanna be model.

Well; think about it for 30 seconds. You've got 20 some odd young ladies; who's only goal while they are at the club is to make money.

That puts each of them into direct competition with each other. Add to that the tendency for women to run in packs and you've got some serious issues, right out of the gate.

Then, you've got drinks. It's not uncommon for the ladies to sponge off any guy around; so your entire waitstaff, pretty much, needs to be female.

/ it's really profitable; if you can get it going. But, one girl doing extra stuff on the side can be enough to shut you down

Well... she got a master's degree and is a "sucessful writer" for Salon.  People act like abusive relationships don't accomplish anything, but here we have a stripper turned into a real person.

Well, turned into a writer for Salon.  I think that might be a horizontal transfer.  Maybe.

I can't believe I actually read that article.  So her whole position seems to be that all she was missing from her life was the perfect enabler, because she had neither the desire nor ability to change herself.  Sounds like good relationship material to me.

So, the gold digging whore who could suck a golf ball through a garden hose hooked up with the drifting rich boy who was just trying to piss off daddy by managing a sex business and marrying a whore.

I hope their kid takes after grandpa more then daddy.

Maybe "daddy" was actually just a Jizz Mopper, but she doctored the story up for click bait.

What is it about Salon writers being so pretentious?  According to this ninny her relationship is one for the ages. No its not you twit. You are just another whore who slept her way to the top. I'd for more interesting stories from the first 40 people I stopped in the street. Would someone PLEASE give Salon the pretension enema it so richly deserves.

Wow that story of two people finding love and starting a family really struck a nerve with you judgemental assholes

If you're at least an average looking guy, dressed nicely and with sufficient funds for ~5 lap dances, there's such a thing as stripper kavorka. I've seen it. The "I Know She Really Liked Me!" system works.

Wow, maybe I'm losing my cynicism. I enjoyed the article, and was impressed with the description of the small steps that led to two people falling in love. I didn't see any pretension at all, in fact I thought the point was that despite one specific detail that would shock and even offend many people, it was all very ordinary. I identified with a few parts of it. Maybe that's because my marriage is one for the ages too?

I'm amazed at a 10 year vet of the stripper/sex industry becoming a somewhat useful citizen save as a diner waitress.  That said I know quite a few girls that have done it as a second job for a while to scrape up some extra money, usually a temp thing or with a specific goal in mind.  What seems to happen for is that its either a fairly rapid in and out.  Then maybe repeat once or twice, or they get addicted to the attention coupled with fairly easy money, and its also pretty easy to get hooked up with sleazy people and drugs.

Got to help clean out one girls room because she got into stripping which got her into heroin which meant she kept stripping to pay for it and over dosed.  Bad part about all of this is the 4 of use were all tech support agents for the same company renting house near work together.   She wasn't a bad person but there was a really big really fast decent over the last 7 months or so I knew her out of 10. Her real problem I think was as much being raised to be a victim of something all the time as much as it was drugs or stripping. Know of 3 or 4 other girls who got into the industry more permanently and got bad boyfriends and drug habits out of it, that are essentially 1 small step above street walkers looking for their next fix at the moment.

I really should stop randomly looking up people I haven't seen in 3 or 4 years if they dropped out of my circle of friends and life its typically been for a good reason.

^ why, ChipNASA.  Why.

Orgasmatron138:

No doubt.  Many would be busy squeezing the guy for all he had and then moving on.  Not even bashing strippers here, squeezing $ out of men is their bread and butter and I don't blame them for making the most of it.  Eventually of course that has a price of its own and this chick saw that it was time to GTFO the business, in this case along with someone who never should have tried his hand at it.

It's profitable, but you have to make damn sure the women sign something along the lines of, "I will not engage in any form of prostitution, and sign this knowing that any form of sex, vaginal or oral or otherwise will be cause for immediate termination and the authorities will be involved."   Add in something about being a fantasy for lonely or unhappily married guys, and point out the consequences of outside relationships(firing) making their way into the business.  Then back it up.  Find a girl blowing a guy in the back room? fire her, and call the cops.  Girl's BF comes to work, gets drunk and causes a scene? Bye. 10 other women want that time slot and legal access to those men/women and their wallets.

Strip club back in KS was a dive, but some of the women were nice.  I was pegged as the nice but poor guy fast; women would come over to me(free poker nights: naked women, beer and poker = heaven) after the games, when they'd been liquored up by some of the more assh*le guys, looking for a few minutes to recover.  I knew I would not take them home, I didn't really want to take them home, with their daddy issues, their multiple boyfriends/girlfriends/sugar daddies.  I also would not try anything while they were half passed out.  I had one woman make it look like she was dancing for me, but she was actually passed out on my lap.  I didn't try anything, but damn if I didn't want to.  Hot body, just enough tattoos to make her look taboo.  Turns out a majority of the women went "fishing" for sugar daddies, using the local pron shop owner to dangle the line.  $100 got a date with one of the girls.  No sex.  Where it went after that was up to the girl.  I knew one girl(called herself "Cherry Red") who drove around in a Miata, owned her own condo, and had 3 boyfriends, and 2 "lovers."  None of them got any, according to her(I was just a friend: I didn't have money).  What's funny is that I was getting sex, and I was just the friend.  I was the only one not trying to possess her, which she liked.

/girl that passed out on my lap told me about the daddy-club in a drunken stupor.
//there was this really short girl(4'9", maybe) who was there a week: went straight to porn

FTFA: I came into work one day and found out from Raven - another lingerie model and a friend of mine - that we had a new owner.

Ah, a new owner?  You see, a pimp's love is very different from that of a square.

Please. It's not a pretentious story at all. Sure, there are pretentious stories all over the place, especially the ones that like to make sure they tick all the right boxes of political correctness. But this one is not it.

I found from working as a bouncer that some people sink like a rock and some figure out how to float.  I saw plenty that use it like an ATM when times were tough for them; they had the goal and they weren't the ones that came in and bought into the lifestyle.  Some could handle the lifestyle but had lines they wouldn't cross and they could stick to them.  Still others came in and you knew they were making a bee-line to being a total train wreck.

It happens.
