Seems like it would be very expensive to build and maintain that.  Wouldn't the more sensible solution be to have the folks walk a couple hundred feet to the end of the road?

Proves... the phrase is proves the rule.  You can't substitute "makes" for "proves", it doesn't make any sense.  "Test", sure, but not "makes".

That seems like an awfully expensive solution to a very minor problem. Wouldn't it have been easier for that one person to walk the two blocks to catch the bus on the main road?
