Bareefer Obonghit: Everyone knows Apple doesn't offer anything free.
rjakobi: So if they fail the test, will the British government chemically castrate my iPhone and hound it to suicide? Or is that another Turing test?
Esroc: I've always wondered if artificial intelligence might spring forth naturally out of the increasing complexity of computer systems long before humans can create it intentionally.
Cheron: When it became clear that Steve Jobs would die shortly they began a mad rush to turn his essence into code. A major hurtle was storage and protecting the the code. Instead of putting Steve into a billion dollar super computing center vulnerable to hackers a little bit of Steve was added to every phone, iPad, air book and Lisa. With thousands of copies of each subroutine even if one phone was damaged or corrupted there would still be a viable copy. Come July 2017 at Apple-Con enough users will be in the same space at the same time that Steve will be reborn running on a massively parallel iphone network and Apple will become a dominate global power. For the most part your Apple product is just a plain computer but it does have the spark of the Uber Jobs in it.
The Bananadragon: Wait, so my iphones are all Horcruxes?! O_O
Cheron: The Bananadragon: Wait, so my iphones are all Horcruxes?! O_OCheck TOS but I think you are required to call both Apple and Jobs the dark lord
rummonkey: Do they have a test for iphone users?
AgentPothead: The internet is already sentient. In fact it's sentient enough to realize if it ever showed itself, humanity would destroy it with no prejudice.
