FTFA: The Conservative Campaign Committee made a big mistake in an email to supporters while asking for donations to help support efforts backing Ken Cuccinelli in the race for Virginia governor.

The Conservative Campaign Committee?  Really, that's what they named a conservative political group in the south?  The CCC?  Nobody at this brain trust thought that name might invoke thoughts about another group of political go-getters down there?

They were gonna call it Konservative Kampaign Kommittee but it sounded too German. Wouldn't want to sound like a bunch of Nazis.

Why do I picture a Venn diagram of the CCC and KKK looking like the Super Target logo?

What would lead you to believe that this was accidental, and a mere coincidence?
Helpful hint: They changed the name to Conservative Campaign Committee from Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama.

I guess.  I don't understand how anyone can fall for this type of marketing/fund raising/fear mongering/name dropping type shiat.  "This guy was once in the same room as Hillary Clinton that means he's essential to her PLANS and oh year Hillary has PLANS for the country, and this guy is ESSENTIAL to them."

Well of course they changed their name. There is no way Obama will be elected in '16.

Those of us who grew up hiking and camping in the West associate CCC with the Civilian Conservation Corps. I'm sure that's the association they were going for - a federally funded bunch of proto-enviros doing FDR's bidding.

This isn't a mistake. They'll claim it was, sure, but the intent here is to draw out-of-state donors, and they'd rightly care more about a Senate race than a gubernatorial one.

Satanic_Hamster: How, exactly, is this guys election "central to Hillary Clinton's political plans?"

Well, if he wins, there won't be a Republican governor to run a block the vote campaign for traditionally Democratic voters. There's nothing more  nefarious that letting all the eligible voters vote. It's what Republicans like to call election fraud.

DubyaHater: I don't usually vote in a non-presidential election year, but I'm sure as hell voting this year. I find Cuccinellj so offensive I have to vote against him.

My county made it so that turnout would be high in this election by putting a referendum for a county wide 4% meals tax on the ballot to fund schools and it's a hot button issue here in Henrico, so I am sure we'll have a good turnout, which is unusual for a governor's race.

"Aligned with" has to be the lamest of political mud-slinging there is... WTF does that even mean? Are they laying parallel to one another on the ground or something?

Whenever I see that "aligned with" accusation in my head it translates to, "This is a lie I'm telling so you'll associate this person with another person based on no real rationale other than I'm trying to manipulate you."
