That's a well played headline, I would have omitted the slash myself, but it's your baby and it's nicely done.

True,  Denver would have won had they scored more points and played better football.

Indy has now beaten the 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos. Think EshiatPN is paying attention?

If Hillman wasn't booted from the airplane mid-flight, I'm going to be livid.

They might pay attention once they finish off Brady & Manning ... after they wipe the jizz from their mouths ...
Then again, probably not.

Maybe, just maybe a loss is what it will take to light a fire under the ass of the Denver D. Even a mediocre D with that offense would be terrifying.

They were already #6 in the ESPN Power Rankings and they've been slobbering Andrew Luck since he was drafted last year. You can get down off the cross now.

2013-10-21 09:39:34 AM
So the receiver that caught the ball, swiped the pilon and then dropped it as he went out of bounds - and thus having the catch called incomplete - was not part of this? Or that fumble at the goal line at the end?

Denver needs to do a bit of soul searching if they think that D is going to get them anywhere in the post season.

Why the hell was Hillman in on that play? I have bowel movements bigger than Hillman - why in the world are you send him into 1500 pounds of defensive line? Why the hell wasn't Moreno in there?

Goddammittsomuch. Well, it's one loss.  The defense better pull their heads out of their asses pretty quick. And frankly, I don't care if we win the division or not - KC will melt down in the playoffs anyway - so long as we have momentum going into the postseason.

Denver's D is no better or no worse than any other team in today's NFL.  Anytime you can rack up 48 points and STILL LOSE, defense is just a word.

Remember when Romo threw a pick late in his shoot out with Denver and everything was about him choking?  Where is the corresponding bevy of posts about Manning and his interception?

Less concerned with Manning's interception and more with Holliday's fumble and Hillman's fumble.

Hillman.

2013-10-21 10:13:04 AM
That being said, Denver's receivers are sooo much better than the Colts. The Denver guys were making tough catches all over the field. Unless the ball hit the Colts receivers right between the numbers they didn't make a play.

Makes what Luck is doing even more impressive. If they had guys that could actually help him out and make a tough catch every now and then he would be scary good.

Hey Kronicfeld, ESPN is NOT going to sleep with you!

tnpir: The defense better pull their heads out of their asses pretty quick.

It's really weird hearing Denver fans sound exactly like Colt's fans a couple years ago.  Maybe it's not the defense, it's just that Manning relies on the pocket more than other quarterbacks.

There were several instances last night Luck would have gotten steamrolled if he'd relied on his D rather than looking for an escape.  Manning doesn't do that.  He'll go down or spike the ball before running through some hole.

Meh, I called it weeks ago that the Broncos could drop one in Indy. It's not like the Colts demolished the Niners on the road or smacked the Seahawks recently. Good win by Indianapolis.

That said, I'm starting to wonder if we should just waive Ronnie Hillman. The guy has some skills but he routinely puts the ball on the ground.  There's certainly no trust there.

Still lots of season left.   Go Broncos!

Peter King ranked them first.  But his reasoning could have been tainted by the extra dose of Zoloft he took when Tom Brady and the Patriots lost.

Did you even watch the game? Peyton's arm was hit from the back as he was throwing it. The blame for that INT falls on the tight end who failed to block the DE.

LT fumbled a bit his rookie year too.  He can learn to hold on to the ball.  (I'm hoping Ryan Matthews can too.)

Looking forward to Chargers Broncos in a few weeks - provided the Chargers still have any Offensive Linemen left at that point.  They were one player away from having to play a Nose Tackle on the line yesterday.

No, we shouldn't do that. Yet.  But he should NOT be used as a regular running back - he's too damn small and he fumbles too often.  Use him in a two back set as a receiver and let Moreno be the guy.  There is NO EXCUSE for having Hillman in on that play at the 3.  If you're going to call a run there it HAS to be Moreno with the ball.  Otherwise run that bootleg they ran a couple of weeks ago and let Peyton strut in.

As I said, I can live with the loss, but the numerous head-up-ass moments by the Broncos yesterday were extremely irritating. I hope this lights the fire and gets them refocused.

Unfortunately you can't do that here in Denver as the Broncos play-by-play announcing is easily the worst in the sport. Unless you're into Dave Logan calling a Broncos touchdown with a downward lilt inflection (and THAT is a DENVER TOUCHdown...).

Give me the guy who calls Chiefs games any day. Or the 'Where's the Beef' Patriots dude.
