Let's see here.  The husband is 68, the perp is 22.  The couple has main house and a guest house.

I'm guessing a very rich man, with a much younger and prettier wife who was bored out of her skull.  So yeah, he'll do it again, but next time they'll find an off site location.

Never, ever at her place if she's married, that's just basic fundamentals.

Yeah, this story is almost annoyingly cliche.

If the couple were married then I'm not sure the young man was under any legal obligation to leave. He was there at the invitation of one of the owners.

Of course leaving would have been a good idea. There's no dispute quite like a domestic one.

Chapman began to yell profanities at the man and refused to leave

It takes a special brand of asshole to get mad at the man who owns the house you just farked his wife in, and a special kind of dumb to refuse to leave.

Oh, no, old dude. I'll just stay right here. Get out of my face!

Priceless.

From another article:

When he woke up around 1 a.m., he said his 63-year-old wife was not beside him, PCSO stated.
He went to their small guest house where he found her in bed with Stephen Chapman of Tucson, deputies said.

Brings up an interesting question of whether you can be trespassing when the owners of a property are not in agreement.

Make it less dramatic: Your wife has an out-of-town relative come to visit. You tell the relative they have to leave. The wife tells the relative to stay. You call the police to have the relative removed. What happens?

Yes, do you not remember the case in Florida like this where the husband killed the guy in self-defense and the jury bought it? I do not agree with that logic but there it is. To my mind if the owners do not agree and you are there at the invitation of one then that is a dispute between the two owners and has nothing to do with you, whatsoever.

The one issue that makes this case different is that the dumbass started yelling at the old man. That gives the guy an excuse to say he felt threatened. But at least this old guy, for whatever it is worth, has more respect than the guy in Florida.

It gets really complicated and full of legal intricacies. But, short of solving things, you stop to realize that, of the 3 of you, at least one is an insufferable ass who is trying to make life hell for the others and has no desire for a rational resolution. The real problem is something entirely different, so nobody actually tries to solve this little made-up fiasco. Unless it gets violent.

So, generally, the police try to get you and your wife to figure it out and the relative finds somewhere else to stay.

I used to work with a guy who picked up women outside divorce court. I wish I was kidding. He'd hang around outside and give them some variant of "Hey let's go spend some of your ex's money! It'll really piss him off to see you with me!". It worked more often than you'd think. He slowed down after the death threats started but he stopped completely when his vehicle caught fire twice in a month and a half.

Cognitive disturbances can occur in the initial stages of the disease and sometimes prior to diagnosis, and increase in prevalence with duration of the disease.

So much for the "it's a mental health problem" diversion.

I relentlessly complain about the state of mental health care in this country. You consistently pick articles apart looking for any random circumstance you can attach your anti-gun talking points to. In this case you've disregarded a justified "warning shot" in favor of e-diagnosing a Parkinson's patient's mental faculties.

The shotgun by the phone in the guest house? Or the shotgun by his phone in his bedroom that he hobbled along on his cane through the yard and the house to get to before the twenty-two year old finally caught up to him?

You go ahead and concoct a scenario that makes sense here.
