"I do apologize," it said, "for any misconceptions or persons I may have offended with these questionable emails."

The classic non-apology.  I'm not sorry I did it, I'm sorry you were offended.

In his defense, Ivy Tech is barely a college.

What's the difference between an Ivy Tech Community College Freshman girl and a hooker? One will blow you for very little gain and has little self respect, and the other is a hooker.

If you're the chairman of the board at a community college

Missed that part, subby.Because in that context, the behavior seems completely acceptable. Most of the community college board members I've met in my travels around higher education are owners of mid-sized machine shops and small manufacturing companies.

As a veteran and survivor of the community college world, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have also dealt with farmer board members in contract negotiations who weren't going to pay for anything ever because they didn't need any college.

Ivy Tech in Indiana is just crap.  They start classes or say they will, kids pay and then no class.  Keeping the money of course.  They are in it for the money that Mitch Daniels promised them and they continue to get from the current governor.  They have already close some campuses to "consolidate" but continue to raise prices.  Crap hole.

Well... the naked images probably should not be sent around, and any time one uses a professional email to a colleague you need to assure the recipient will approve of the content, but frankly the descriptions are not suggestive of anything but poor judgment.

Yeah, I am very curious as to these pictures that compare naked women to various animals. Some Farker has to know what this is referring to and I want links.

Up to 'naked women' I was thinking get over it.

But then again, dnrta. maybe he was sending them to a female colleague?

So what model would you propose, Professor?

I'm sure you are not interested in any salary or benefit cuts.

What would be a better mousetrap? (So to speak)

Administrator here. Classrooms don't just magically appear and students don't just wander in for instruction when you show up to teach. STFU and get back to work on your syllabus.

"jokes about pictures that compare naked women to animals"? Wait, that doesn't make sense. Let's try this again:

avoid sending emails featuring:
- jokes about erectile dysfunction
- breast size
- pictures that compare naked women to various animals

"emails featuring breast size"? That's no good either.

Former Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) director Rob Carter, Jr. took Ivy Tech Trustee V. Bruce Walkup duck hunting at the wildlife area on September 14, 2012."

So the accompanying photo to the story was that of a wetland the guy took a friend to one day?

That's kind of random.

Student here, would both of you STFU and DIAF, neither one of you cares a whit about educating anyone but your pocketbooks. In my experience Prof's don't wander in they have undergrads and aids do all the teaching, and admins are just pissed because they can't do, or manage to get a teaching job with tenure so, they make it their mission to drown anything in useless rules and regulations.

Note : I don't know either of you, and this shouldn't be taken as a personal attack.

Yeah, my kid brother is going there. I'm trying to be encouraging because I'm glad he's going to school anywhere, but the place is a joke. One of his profs quit the first day of class and never came in. No call, nothing.

I went with him to help him buy books and sign up for classes and whatnot, and we went into the bookstore to get the ISBN for one of his textbooks to buy it online (they were charging $150 for a philosophy text, and we found it online for $30) and a bookstore employee yelled at us and chased us out when she realized we weren't going to actually purchase the book. No idea why she was so pissed - it's not like she gets a commission from sales.
