Has he never heard of Mike Leach before?  Leach would ban punters if he could.

And he mocks his own players for being "basically the scout team."

He's pissed they didn't get style points.   Here's a hint about Leach, coach Aliotti, up 24 or down 24, Leach is going to run his offense balls to the walls.  Learn it, know it, don't cry about it.

He's right but probably not for that

Ummm, huh?

Dude is crying rivers because Leach is hurting his defensive stats. This makes Oregon appear "holier than thou"...lay there and take your whooping, don't fight back.

I could be wrong, but I think the nationwide perception of the Pac-12 is that it's still basically chock full of soft teams (in terms of physicality and mentality), so the fact a Def Coordinator for the best team in it is complaining like this is especially hilarious and depressing at the same time.

2013-10-20 04:44:27 PM
I 100% guarantee you that Leach kept Halliday passing because of this:

Mariota pass completion to the left to Lowe for 10 yards to the WashSt24
Mariota pass completion to the right to Addison for 7 yards to the WashSt17
Mariota pass completion to the left to Huff for 17 yards for a TOUCHDOWN

Editing it lost some of the detail, but that's Oregon at the beginning of the fourth quarter, up 24 points, still in full hurry up mode, throwing three consecutive passes with its starting QB for 34 yards and a touchdown to make it 55-24.

If Aliotti doesn't want other teams' starting quarterbacks throwing the ball in the fourth quarter of blowouts, maybe he should tell his own damn coach first.

Gotdamm, Oregon. I was assured you were bigger than this. Look forward to your annual disappointment in the BCS

I was there.  He was pissed his d played like crap.  They can't cover wideouts, against a better qb they would have had big problems.

Go FSU, if only just to stick it in an undefeated Oregon team's face.  What a bunch of shiat.

They were the scout team.  Maybe you don't follow Oregon football, but when they are up by 4-5 touchdowns in the second half then everybody, including the waterboy, gets to play.

What's moronic is that you obviously are commenting on something you know nothing about.  Most of Oregon's scoring is done in the first half.  Most of our second halves consist of running the ball up the middle and never scoring again.

As an Oregon fan I admit that Aliotti should have kept his mouth shut, it was a stupid comment to make and makes you look like a sore winner.  Actually, he should have thanked Leach for giving his 3's and 4's some good experiencing playing against their starters.  Usually that late in the game the opposing team has also pulled their starters as well.

As to what Leach thinks he was accomplishing by picking up some garbage TDs in the 4th quarter??? Is he really going to go into the locker room after the game and praise his team for not quitting against Oregon's bench warmers?  I don't know if I would necessarily feel all that proud about it if I were a Cougar.

What's moronic is how dumb you can be since just up thread someone posted the stat line of Oregon still running the score up even when having a large lead.

Face it those douches are one of the biggest stat padding teams out there and keep running up the score.

Leach's system relies on perfect timing between the QB and receivers.  Why not get them as much game time as possible.  He won't win THIS game but it could help down the road.

Way to double-down on your douche-tastic comments, Nick.

The reason why WAZU stuck to the air is because had they not, the score would have been way worse.

WSU had a total of TWO yards rushing for the entire farking game! Ducks front 4 on D did an outstanding job.

Well, Mike Leach does have a bit of a low class air about him but he doesn't pretend to be something he isn't. Oregon, or it's staff at least, are slowly working their way into being disliked by everybody. They've built up quite a program but they often seem like they have the inferiority complex of an unnoticed Division III national champion. Win your games and the rest will come. It's not the responsibility of WSU or any other school to give you cheap style points.

Right, because a professional league where a 9-7 team can get hot and win the championship is soooo much more authentic.

Um, NO.  Looks like you need to read up on your pathetic team.  They have scored equally during both halves all year.  Guess confusion reigns supreme when sour grapes try to defend idiocy.  Like when same said team relies on a referee to win a game for them and defends said win even after the referee gets fined for his game-fixing. Keep up the class, Oregon.

That wasn't meant for any specific program. Having worked for and been around programs that were successful at lower levels, I was treated to a great deal of angst by those who were mad that no one paid attention to them. It's not uncommon to hear alumni and staff of lower division schools spew out nonstop bitterness when nearby D1A schools with so-so records get more attention. Which also seems to be the case with Oregon, where they feel a couple of good years means they should have as many fans as storied programs like Notre Dame, Penn State, or Nebraska. Mount Union and their coach might be class acts but that's more of the exception than the rule when it comes to top division jealousy.

nice graphic, but whoever did that screwed up the scoring section. i guess they forgot what color the ducks were when they tried to show the scores by quarter

half. 2nd half

Nichols state: 38. 28
Virginia. 28. 31
Tennessee. 38. 21. No 4th quarter points
Cal. 41. 14. No 4th quarter points
Colorado. 43. 14. No 4th quarter points
Washington. 21. 24.

I will go on record and think Aliotti's comment is dumb. I would think he would like having the 3rd string get some game time reps.

I like the Ducks, but this is some really, really pathetic whining.  fark Aliotti.  What a classless piece of shiat.  He insults the refs earlier this week, the opposing team before and after the game, his own players, and then whines after a win?

God damn dude, just shut up and appreciate you're working for a perpetual top 10 team.  If Chip was still in Eugene I don't think this asshole would be talking shiat like this.

The entire rest of the Pac-12 is going to relish curb stomping Oregon for decades some year. It'll happen. Might take Phil Knight dying first, and cutting off his slush fund to the school, but it'll happen.

Enjoy your empire now, Oregon. We all will be coming for you some day.

Just as soon as we can convince the NCAA your cheating is actually worthy of penalty that matters.

Knight just offered $500 million to OHSU.  I'd bet there's a few billion that will end up as an endowment for Oregon.

Actually, the rest of the then Pac-10 got to curb stomp Oregon for decades so the winning now is making up for that.  Oregon needs at least another 10 years or so of being a top team for it to even out.

/Allioti's comments were stupid

What cheating exactly.

Because a 2 year witch hunt found pretty much nothing more than a little illegal contact and an instance of an extra coach on the recruiting trail.

The NCAA wanted to hammer Oregon so badly and found nothing.

As for Phil Knight, he's a rich alum. Sure we benefit from him but every program takes alumni money. Oregon just helped in the creation of Nike.

But establishing a program, becoming successful, and maintaining success by promoting coaches from within instead of headhunting is not cheating.
