ReapTheChaos: "It comes out to about 15,000 calories a week."

That's over 2100 per day, you would have a hard time losing weight at that rate unless you were very active and exercised daily. I find his claims of losing 14 pounds, which is about 1/2 a pound a day, doubtful.

A. Your math and/or reading comprehension is off.  14 pounds per year is about 1 pound every 20 days.

B. An obese person would most likely lose weight at 2100 calories per day.

"He blew everything out of the water, the first year he did this, he lost fourteen pounds," said Dr. Terry Simpson, a weight loss specialist. "Most of it was body fat. His cholesterol went down by a third."

I'm absolutely shocked that a man cut his calories and lost about a pound a month for a year. It's unprecedented in human history.

Considering that my current diet consists of counting calories, I could totally get away with that. However, only 1300 calories per day of beer and sausage may leave me wanting to tear someone's arms off.
