CavalierEternal: Hawk Harrelson is on the list, thus invalidating it.
SurfaceTension: I can't quibble with that list. Scully is #1, my Reds' Marty Brennaman got the nod about where he should have at #15, and no egregious omissions.
FrancoFile: But where is Nuxhall? He and Brennaman were a fantastic team; listening to them growing up, they were as much a part of the Big Red Machine of the 70s as Morgan and Bench and Rose were.
Generation_D: Here's mine:1) Harry Caray2) Jack Buck3) Bob Uecker4) Ernie Harwell5) Dave Niehaus6) Denny Mathews7) Joe Tait8) Vin Scully9) Mike Shannon10) Vince LloydMost of these are for their radio work a long time ago. I don't rate the current generation of announcers much at all. TV ruined true baseball announcing. East Coast very underrepresented on this list, because everyone else's list will do the opposite.
NakedReporta: Did I hear my name?
brightsun66: List needs Mike Shannon.
Generation_D: 5) Dave Niehaus
steamingpile: Not giving BR the clicks but if Joe Buck is on that list but not Ernie Johnson or Skip Carey then the list is complete shiat.
johnny_vegas: Long drive, deep left field....that ball is OUTTA HERE! Home run, Michael Jack Schmidt!
machoprogrammer: How did Ron Santo even make honorable mention? He was awful. A random homeless guy would've done better (and sound the same).Uecker should be higher, too.
Bareefer Obonghit: I'd rather watch my parents' honeymoon video than any game Joe Buck us announcing.
The Bestest: steamingpile: Not giving BR the clicks but if Joe Buck is on that list but not Ernie Johnson or Skip Carey then the list is complete shiat.1) Ernie Johnson is mediocre on a good day at baseball2) likely not included for bias reasons, as Johnson works for TBS.. who owns b/r
Shrugging Atlas: steamingpile: Not giving BR the clicks but if Joe Buck is on that list but not Ernie Johnson or Skip Carey then the list is complete shiat. If Buck makes the Top 25 anything then the list sucks regardless of who he beat out.
Super Chronic: Generation_D: 5) Dave NiehausThe omission of Niehaus makes the list an abject miserable failure. I don't care to pile on the Joe Buck hate, but it boggles the mind that there exists an actual person who would rank Joe Buck higher than Dave Niehaus as a baseball announcer.
