For anybody that still wants to kick in the $5 or so for an end of season prize for the predictions league, I've offered to be the person to hold the money and send the gift to the winner. Paypal it to Unfreakable at the gmail dotcom.

This weekend's games look to be really great for neutrals.

I'll paypal ya up as soon as I dig up my paypal password.

Wow, that's a THICK accent on the color commentator

And for those of you who might have missed it, Bayer Leverkusen won their game because of a ghost goal that somehow ended up in the back of the net despite never going through the goal mouth.

Here's another video that shows it a bit more:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44m9ewopBGk. The commentary sounds like Russian, but lots of replays to watch.

How the hell?

2013-10-19 07:58:43 AM
Dear Reds, how about some more possession

2013-10-19 07:59:57 AM

dietbubba: How the hell?

Hole in the side of the net. You can see it toward the end of the second video, the defenders show the ref. But he let the goal stand anyway.

Cabaye with the long-range strike. I'm surprised Mignolet missed that.

Looks like he got a slightly late jump on it

Oh, Liverpool.

I heard about it on the radio, but didn't see it until now. I wonder if the Liga will overturn it. Not only did that win the match for Leverkusen, it put them in first place (pending whatever Dortmund and Bayern do in their matches).

Yeah, but it looked like he dove first when he should have taken a step. It just looked saveable to me. Easy for me to say watching a replay in slow motion, though.

Do you think the Bundesliga will schedule a rematch? Do that do stuff like that?

Where are the Liverpool supporters this week?

Whoa??? RED?

Red card for Newcastle's Yanga-Mbiwa. Penalty for Liverpool

No kidding. Maybe they're all still sleeping.

GERRARD makes it 1-1

2013-10-19 08:30:28 AM
If you don't want to give up a penalty and get sent off, you don't farking grab someones shoulder in the box as they're in on your keeper.  You especially don't grab someone like Suarez who IS going to go down.  Newcastle doesn't have a thing to be pissed off about there.  Architects of their own downfall.

Easy call. Straightforward red card, confirmed by the replay. Suarez may go down easy, but you can't put hands on another player in the box, that's Football Defending 101

The one downside to NBC's coverage today: Not enough close-ups of Rebecca Lowe

I've never heard of it happening. It doesn't mean that it's never happened, though. Off to the googles and bundesliga.de!

If they don't rectify the situation immediately, let's storm their offices with torches and pitchforks.

Afternoon everyone. FFPL report during the 1500 games.

Your team is winning, creating more chances, you go for a widdle and return to 'and Gerard equalises from the penalty spot after the red card'.

Le sigh.

I insured a 2-2.

For Liverpool to achieve CL qualification, they must finish higher than two of the following:

Spurs
Chelsea
Arsenal
MUFC
MCFC

Irrespective of the outcome of this game, which I still wouldn't be surprised to lose [wounds from the mid-nineties still have scars] I can't see that happening.

2013-10-19 09:06:32 AM
I had this 2-1 Reds.  Blah

2013-10-19 09:09:59 AM
There are two cases I can see where they've replayed the match. One in 1994 (1st league) and one in 1978 (2nd league). There have also been other cases where the call on the field stood despite being incorrect. The Deutscher Fußball-Bund (German equivalent to the FA in England) is in contact with FIFA on this as well. One way or another, this is going to lead to a major push for video replay for questionable goals.

Slept in....

2013-10-19 09:12:40 AM
Had my red colored glasses on and called this a 3-1 'Pool win.  Was feeling like that had a pretty good chance of shaking out at halftime.

2013-10-19 09:14:05 AM
Why is every Newcastle game like this?

2013-10-19 09:14:56 AM
Why oh why didn't I insure this game

2013-10-19 09:15:44 AM
Great passing.  When they are on the same page, Suarez and Sturridge are deadly

2013-10-19 09:15:53 AM
Pretty, pretty goal!

2013-10-19 09:16:46 AM
Damnit...get coffee and miss Sturridge!!!  Nice finish.

Been largely disappointed with Cissokho and Moses today.  Jose Enrique can be frustrating at time but I haven't seen anything to indicate that Cissokho is better.

Agreed.  Hasn't been one of their better matches

Dear Henderson...STOP SHOOTING

2013-10-19 09:28:50 AM
Should be 3-2 there.

2013-10-19 09:30:27 AM
I'm torn. I predicted a Liverpool win for FFPL, but if Liverpool drop points it's good for the gunners. Hmmmmmmm

2013-10-19 09:38:50 AM
I hope this goes in because fark this Newcastle timewasting.

2013-10-19 09:40:58 AM
Christ! 30 points the hard way.
