fusillade762: working on a motorcyclist
namegoeshere: I call bullshiat on this one. Car seats work (other than in the car) for babbies who are not yet mobile and have nothing better to do than sit there. Eleven month olds want to go go go. Rarely would a babby of that age be content to sit there all strapped in. I suspect babby was given the hot seat as punishment for some terrible babby crime, and stupid sitter lady did not realize how hot it would get.
shanrick: fusillade762: working on a motorcyclistHow does that work?
fusillade762: Neighbor Duwayne Johnson said he was working on a motorcyclist in his garage Thursday afternoon when heard "somebody cursing and screaming very loudly."But could he smell what they were cooking?
"Police investigate how a baby girl got burned in a car seat placed atop a cooking stove. Gee, maybe it was because the car seat was placed atop A COOKING STOVE"
/How the headline was read in my head
Gyrfalcon: I believe nobody in that article knows what's going on.
That is horrifying. But enough about that site layout....
HST's Dead Carcass: Either the maker of the stove or the car seat is going to be sued because of this.
megarian: Do they make stoves for NOT cooking?
ultraholland: how is babby burned?

White_Scarf_Syndrome: Good chance that babby was asleep. Even better chance another babby decided to fiddle with the stove controls when she wasn't looking. They move quickly.

They move quickly.I use a glass cooktop electric with "touch controls" that are supposed to respond to human fingers. However they respond to all sorts of items inadvertantly placed atop that section of glass. I hate the damn thing, but it's a rental so I have to live with it. Perhaps the car seat was set with one corner atop the controls and it was accidentally left on. People who have gas stoves it's always obvious when the burner is on. When it's an electric it's often not obvious, could have been left on at low earlier is another possibility. The court will sort this out, not a bunch of internet kibitzers.
LinaBo: The article read like it was written by Ralph Wiggum.
