Gee, the first honest Republican.

Nobody in the GOP has a clue what an impeachable offense is. They let Bush get away with all of them, short of murdering a hooker and stuffing her corpse into a wood-chipper and now they want to impeach Obama for doing his job correctly.

But never has one of them admitted they had know idea what an impeachable offence is.

I guess this admission makes Beck a RINO. Boy, must he be POed. I wonder if he will consult a Wikipedia article or go straight to a conspiracy website.

Hmmmm! Anybody willing to offer odds of less than 10 quadrillion to one against Beck educating himself?

These people just think "impeach" is the name for do-overs when your presidential candidate loses the first time around.

You backed the loser, Beck, and you only get one shot. The good guys won in 2012, Beck. Sit on it sloooowwww, Beck.

Out of context words are out of context.

Of course, that face doesn't make Beck any less of an idiot, but still.

Who is this person and why does anyone listen to anything he says? It's an honest question, what qualifies him to have anyone pay attention to any of his rantings? This isn't coming from a partisan place, it's just honestly, why the fark does he have a voice beyond a self funded pod cast?

Thank Fox News. They made him a "believable figure" in American Politics, and then when they realized they had someone just as loony as Alex Jones on their hands, they cast their Frankenstein's monster back onto the American Public.

Because he says very loudly and in a public forum the things his followers want to believe, but know deep down inside aren't true, and would be embarrassed to say on their own. It's a cognitive dissonance that keeps psychologists up at night.

Since impeachment is a political process (not a legal one) impeachment is whatever the U.S. Congress says it is.

Please, please, please, please files articles of impeachment!  Pretty Please with Sugar on Top?  I can think of nothing better to drive the nails into the coffin of the Grand Old Corpse Party than doing this!  I mean it actually made Clinton MORE popular and he sort kinda did what they say he did.  Since Obama hasn't done anything remotely impeachable this would just be wonderful theater as the Republican fades from history like a rancid fart in a crowded elevator.

Actually, you kinda CAN. You can impeach Supreme Court judges hypothetically. It's just ever since Clinton's little shebang, people are thinking you can just impeach any president they don't agree with. We should have a fifty year moratorium on those sorts of things.

Exactly.  The 'high crimes and misdemeanors' stuff is dicta.   With a large enough majority, the Congress can do about anything within the laws of physics.  Impeach whomever or put up any dumbass Constitutional amendment (though the latter also takes the states to go along).

Fortunately getting to 2/3rds agreement is never easy.

Confirmation bias helps, but I think the biggest part of it is that they don't understand the argumentation process. They see him present a statement, toss out (or off) an anecdote or two, and assume that the connection he's drawing (both verbally and on the blackboard) is legit. The confirmation bias helps them accept those anecdotes as data that much faster.

If the GOP has any sort of power in the legislature, the government will shut down and the democrat will be impeached.

Wait, Glenn Beck thinks you can impeach Senators and Congressmen now? Sorry, I interrupted you ...go on.

...I don't know what an impeachable offense is."

Apparently.

The only thing about this story that surprises me is that it took this long for Beck to get desperate enough to smash the "break glass in case of sucky ratings" thingy and haul this talking point out.

Guess his audience is getting a little bored that his Next Big Thing always turns out to be another yawnfest.

This time it'll be different for sure!

Proceed, moron.

Members of the Senate and House can be "expelled" by a vote in their own house, but it isn't formally called "impeachment".

I had to sit in front of a television tuned to Fox News today.

The first segment was a piece still going on about Benghazi and trying to make it a scandal.

The second was about all the mean things Democrats were saying about the Tea Party. Actual quote, "It's like they think they can treat a Tea Partier as three-fifths of a person".

Most of the clowns in the Tea 'tard faction barely know how Government works, much less specifics like Impeachment. The last recent President was Nixon and, despite my love for him, he knew the game was up and resigned. He would have been impeached with Watergate.

The GOP loves to bring up the word yet they have no idea actually how to do it.

How can you possibly have good ratings if the only major TV provider that carries it is Dish Network?

Comcast doesn't carry it, TWC doesn't carry it, At&T doesn't carry it, I don't think even Verizon carries it.

Usually when that happens, it means the TV channel is trying to charge these TV providers too much to carry the feed.

I don't know how it works. Dish Network is the low budget outfit so I don't think he is asking for too much to carry it. He would have more viewers than most of the other 200 crappy networks have. I suspect the network executives have ideological issues interfering with their business decisions.  Our possibly political pressure from Washington.

Yes, that has to be it. It couldn't possibly be because it's not worth it to them. There has to be some sort of evul libruhl conspiracy keeping those networks from carrying him.

Funny thing is Glenn Beck isn't wrong; Obama is impeachable. You could bring up high crimes and misdemeanor charges for almost every president we've ever had. Obama's speech yesterday could land him a 'conduct unbecoming' offense. Hell, the House could impeach him for failing to prevent them from shutting down the government. They could subpoena themselves as witnesses.

Here's why presidents aren't removed by impeachment: it's basically a popularity contest. As long as 34 senators like Obama he's free and clear.

If conservatives want to remove Obama before 2017 they're gonna need to follow his advice and start winning some elections.

2013-10-18 09:05:14 PM
Beck is not insane; he's a cynic who's figured out how to milk millions out of 'tards. He's no more a true believer than Limbaugh, Hannity, Cruz or Coulter. He's just managed to take the same shiat they do and add even more potato. Seriously, all he has to do is take whatever is in the news and sprinkle in some references to the grand Marxist conspiracy and the cows who listen will moo.
