Notice how Salon assumes peoples medical information and what they would provide when signing up and then doesn't even bother to provide what the plans deductible (out of pocket expense) be?

Notice how he tells us his assumptions?

Unless you think smoking negates the 60% savings they are better off under "Obamacare". If their income is lower thent hey woudl actually be even better off.

For the third couple he went with the most expensive plan, and they still had savings.

Jist of the article:

Hannity guests: "ObamaCare sucks and has ruined our lives."
Salon author: "In what way? Have you checked out what's offered on your state's exchange?"
Hannity guests: "No, and we're not going to because ObamaCare sucks."
Salon author: "Well then, good luck with that."

Seriously. This man is a pestilential boil on the ass of humanity. His Freedom Concerts alone should be warming his derriere for a seat in Hell, and one of the really ugly ones since Buddhists have a LOT of Hells, but that is just a tip of the iceberg for this pustule masquerading as a man...

Obamacare has no effect on businesses with 49 employees or less. But in our brief conversation on the phone, Paul revealed that he has only four employees. Why the cutback on his workforce? "Well," he said, "I haven't been forced to do so, it's just that I've chosen to do so. I have to deal with increased costs." What costs? And how, I asked him, is any of it due to Obamacare? There was a long pause, after which he said he'd call me back. He never did.

Christ, I wish this took place on video.

Isn't funny that in 90% of the anecdotal stories we are hearing about the horrors of Obamacare, upon critical scrutiny those stories turn out to be flat out lies or at least gross misrepresentations? It's almost as if those presenting the stories are unethical, immoral, liars. You know, republicans.

2013-10-18 10:48:46 AM
I was not really surprised that Hannity misled his audience. I was dissappointed the one gentleman gave false statements about how the ACA negatively impacted his business with four employees.

I also really wasn't surprised that the other couples hadn't even check the exchanges to see if better deals were available. All because they are already convinced the ACA and President Obama suck.

/Republicans: Voting against their own best interests since 1972.

She told me she has long opposed Obamacare, and that the president should have focused on tort reform as a solution to bringing down the price of healthcare.

That's only because you've been brainwashed, darling.

If only we could change the laws so people can't sue doctors for negligence. The people wronged would be screwed AND we could save 2% on our health care!

I've had some run-ins with people I know in real life...they complain that they got a letter from their insurer or some such, saying their plan is being amended or withdrawn.  Then they complaint about how Obamacare screwed them.  So I asked them if they've been to the exhanges to see what's available?  Their answers have been a mixture of "the website doesn't work, so why bother" and "no, why would I do that".

*facepalm*

Conversation I had with my mother, avid Tea Party supporter, the other day (backstory is that I'm moving to California and at the time thought I was going to have to find new health insurance):

Me: "I looked at the rates on the CA exchange, I'm seeing that a similar plan to what I've got now is around the same price"
Mom: "Yeah but it's ObamaCare, so that means you'll get a lot less for the same money."
Me: "No, the benefits are the same--same copay, same deductible, etc."
Mom: "But you'll have to go to ObamaCare doctors now and wait six months to get seen."
Me: *sigh*

We've had MassHealth (not calling it Romneycare, cause that farker doesn't) here for a few years.

So far, no one has been sent to the death panels, and I haven't seen any increase in my wait time to see my doctors.

But keep fng that chicken, cons. I'm sure the people outside of our echo chamber yearn for the days of pre-existing conditions and COBRA

I don't know....do you? You'd think a reporter who was looking into these peoples 'stories' would of mentioned it after all the out-of-pocket expense would be been right on the screen. Selective information is was has happened to journalism.

Holy shiat is that funny, considering the very FIRST story is about a business owner with 4 employees claiming he had to cut back hours due to Obamacare. When called on it, he hangs up.

But you won't even address that out and out lie. You had to find one small tidbit and focus on that, rather than the bigger picture.

Willful ignorance. The GOP thanks you!

I had to work a few of his events, thanks to Glendale Arena--not to mention a few Zig Ziglar events. Ziglar at least offers something for the huge amounts of cash that he sucks from the suckers' pockets, and he does give a decent amount to various folks, but Hannity's events use "helping the troops and their families" as their clarion call, and then pocket about 90% in "administrative costs." Working the event, you get to see how the organizers and management for these tours operate, and even Celine Dion's road crew were more pleasant, and they were just rife with nasty minded Quebecois...
