The former Baptist pastor opined that "homosexuality much more likely leads to AIDS than smoking leads to cancer".

Mr. Cat Poop: Chariset: Absolutely.  The world needs a list of every single person moronic enough to admit to having been 'harmed' by homosexuality.

I hope they list their grievances too.

The girl I lost my virginity to left me for a chick. I work through the pain by forcing myself to watch lesbian porn. It's like therapy, but with more semen.

I think you're doing it wrong.

Godscrack: Peter LaBarbera - President of the anti-gay organization Americans for Truth about Homosexuality.
Rick (Richard) Scarborough - Leads Vision America Action and the Judeo-Christian Council for Constitutional Restoration.

Such pompous titles mean that those two are humble, God-fearing Christians.. right?

I believe it was Mark Twain who described idiots like this as being  "certain that they knew how the Good Lord God would act if *only* He knew the Facts of the matter!"

mrshowrules: I'm pretty sure the vile shiat that guy is saying would actually get him arrested in Canada under our hate crime legislation.

That is the wonderful thing about America.

We don't put this guy in jail for what he's saying, we put him in the town square and have a very long hard laugh at him.

I don't understand. Who are the Plaintiffs? What is the class? Who are the defendants? What are the damages? What is the liability? What in the hell are they talking about?

You can't hunt from a vehicle. You'll loose your hunting license for that
You must get out of the vehicle, then load the weapon, and then shoot.

Persons with a disabled hunter permit may shoot from a vehicle if the hunter is in compliance with applicable law.

bemused outsider: Tea Party must have been infiltrated by Dem plants.

All this Baggin's activity is very effective at drawing attention away from any real issues the Dems may be facing.

It's a bit like watching a slow-mo trainwreck, where the carriages just keep piling up and piling up.

FALSE FLAG!!!!

Impossible.  I was told the Tea Party only cared about economic issues.

I think that "those gays" aren't very smart.

seems to me that all societies need a group to hate.
They("those gays") should start a mass importation of Falasha Jews.
Just think. Black, African, Jews. 3for1. It's a no brainer.

Pincy: Remember folks, the Tea Party is just about economics and jobs, it has nothing to do with hating the queers and the coloreds and the libtards.

This really can't be stated enough - it's amazing how the "party of smaller government" really has very little to do with "smaller government" and more to do with "bizarre implementation of their fantasy world."

A vote for the Tea Party is a vote for getting government out of your life and ending frivolous litigation.

Didn't read the thread but:

I heard the passage from another site. It's really telling that they tried to find a kid whose counselor told him, "Hey, it's okay, just be gay," and then got AIDS, and they couldn't.

Real classy there.

Wow, I posted this on FB to see what my more rabid Right Wing friends would say... This was the response(Edited in the interest of not giving away personal details of my friend, and with the important parts highlighted):

First of all, I need to clear something up: Rick Scarborough is NOT a Tea Party leader. He's the head of a Christian conservative group, but it isn't a Tea Party. His ideas and opinions are his own, and he does NOT speak for any Tea Party, or its membership. These comments weren't part of a speech he was giving, they were part of a private conversation he was having with someone else while attending a Tea Party function. He wasn't asked by the Tea Party to come and express his views on homosexuality, and nowhere will you EVER find any Tea Party supporting these views. Second, Rick Scarborough is an idiot. That's about all I can say about him.

I was attending a dinner for the XXXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX(Edit by Mikey1969: NOT any kind of Tea Party group) last year. I'm an active member, and sit on several boards for the organization. During the dinner, I began discussing with the fellow seated next to me the idea that the State should consider a one or two year moratorium on deer hunting to try to help the deer populations recover while increasing the amount of elk tags to keep their population to manageable levels. A reporter for the XXXX XXXX XXXX (our local liberal talking head) was also seated at the table and became visibaly angered by the idea of issuing MORE hunting tags. She knows who I am, and that I'm an active member of XXXXX. Should she have gone back and written an article titled "XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXX Leader States They Should Support Killing Elk"? No, a title like that alludes to XXXXX supporting what is obviously my PERSONAL opinion.

So it boils down to this(From this and a few other conversations I have had with this friend):
1. Since the Tea Party doesn't have any "organized leadership", nobody is a "leader".
2. Even though this was a broadcast event, it was a "private conversation", and not a speech.
3. Tea Partiers are warm and cuddly. Not only do they never say anything bad about Gay Folk, they also aren't racist in any way.
4. Apparently Tea Partiers avoid Rick Scarborough like The Plague.
5. False equivalencies are so totally awesome!

Sad part is; this guy was much more level headed 15 years ago when we first met and hung out more often, even though he was 17-18 at the time( I was 22 or so), we had a lot of good conversations on more Right Wing topics. At the time though, he was FAR more moderate. Now, it's all I can do to keep him from disowning me. Hell, I posted this story with no more commentary than to say that trying to "sue homosexuality" is idiotic, and that wishing for someone to get AIDS is about as dickish as you can be. I specifically did NOT add any of my own comments regarding ANYthing political.

I think homosexuality should file a counter-suit against heterosexuality.

There's a difference between free speech and shouting fire in a movie theater.

Canada refused to allow FoxNews into its borders because it demands that a news channel actually have some integrity. Free speech or not, that's the right decision.

/not sure, but I believe the right to free speech is in the Canada Constitution, as is a right to vote, which isn't in the US one

You can only sue a person or organization.  You can NOT sue a concept or states of being.

Peki: There's a difference between free speech and shouting fire in a movie theater.

That's correct.  And you are celebrating laws that criminalize criticizing a movie you like, while pretending they are yelling fire.

Canada refused to allow FoxNews into its borders because it demands that a news channel actually have some integrity. Free speech or not, that's the right decision.

Yay, censorship!

/not sure, but I believe the right to free speech is in the Canada Constitution, as is a right to vote, which isn't in the US one

It is, just broken into a bunch of sections and amendments so I don't feel like copying and pasting all of them.

Of course, having "free speech" in your Constitution then ignoring it means you don't really have it.

(We're certainly not perfect on speech down here, but we're better than anyone else.)

Really this action is no better than coming up with a "class action lawsuit" against blacks.

Bigotry sucks. Why do we keep letting it happen without consequence?

Ablejack: "We always wanted to see one of the kid in high school who was counseled by the official school counselor to just be gay, then he comes down with HIV."

He could probably find someone who was not well instructed about precautions of heterosexual sex and got an STD!

How about someone who got an STD because of bad education goes to this guy and tells him about it, but be as vague as possible about who it was, look guilty when asked if it was with another male but say nothing, then when this jackhole sues because he got too giddy at the thought of having a case, have the kid say in court, "Actually, I didn't know about protected sex because of people who denied letting me and my girlfriend know." Then, for added measure as the giddy jackhole suddenly goes pale, drop the mic and request to step down from the witness stand.

Hey, kid never lied about anything...

This is one of two areas in which I wish our country was more like our friends to the south. I am firmly in the "I may not like what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." So long as 'captive audiences' (e.g. store clerks, paramedics, teachers, etc) aren't forced to be badgered by hatred, then I say let them spew whatever they like.

/The other one is weed
//I called it over a decade ago;
