adamatari: Countries are not forever things. Borders change, regions become part of it, regions break away. In the past this was usually a very violent process, at least this one is unlikely to lead to a bloody civil war.When the US breaks up it will really be a mess... Probably another good 100 years to go, but that's what people said about the USSR too.
