Oh great. This is right outside a large shopping corridor in O-Town - this place inexplicably has had Soap bubbles floating up from it on several different weekends I driven in to go furniture shopping.

They compete will the majority of Orlando parks, so I guess I get it, but yeesh.

/never was sure WTF the bubbles were about but it seems to be a thing there

I got caught in a rain of freezes once, I named it "snow."

According to that picture, Jesus' Ark is going the wrong way.

Hehe, that sign was the first thing I saw too. It's almost like they didn't think their cunning plan all the way through.

Is it on private property?

If so, and it doesn't violate any billboard laws, who cares?

Don't like it?  Don't look at it.

Remember:  Freedom OF religion does not mean freedom FROM religion.

Yeah, no.

Billboards are different. You can't always not look at a billboard. That's why there are, in fact, laws which regulate not only how big a billboard can be, but what can be on it in terms of color, size of image, etc. We went through this some years back on Sunset Blvd., when huge, obnoxious, animatronic movie billboards were so intrusive they were being blamed for causing accidents, because they were so distracting.

Whether or not this one actually is or not may depend on how close it is to any Disney billboards, and how much power Disney has in Orlando legislation. I know for a fact that would never fly in Anaheim.

This is a humongous sign which states that stupidity is alive and well in America.

Just north of that there are billboards against abortion interspersed with billboards for a strip club. It's a family value thing but I'm fresh out of singles

FTA: You can see it yourself just off the eastbound Conroy exit ramp on I-4.

Or we could have taken a better photo of it for you, but we were too lazy and that cut into our on-the-clock- lunch at Hooters.

If you die in a fiery car crash because you are distracted by the giant Jesus, you go to Hell.

You two are entirely too kind. I thought the "wrong way" sign was a comment on the entire faith system.

As the atheist-est of atheists, I'm inclined to agree.  Forcing this mural to cover up would probably lead to unintended consequences later on.  Every billboard or sign on the road can be a distraction if you let it... I don't like American Jesus or his latter-day disciples but I don't see how this is really anybody's problem.

Sorry, could not stop myself. This isn't a threadjack, just a comment on his return. And he has.
Returned, that is.
At least now, he doesn't look like he's trapped in quicksand....

Is it just me, or does a lot of modern religious art look like it was produced by people who use to make album covers for heavy metal bands?

Who needs a sign for that? I just don't like the Ark operator's obvious disdain for traffic safety. I don't care what religion he/she/it is. That's just dangerous!

I think that I shall never see a billboard lovely as a tree. Perhaps, unless the billboards fall, I'll never see a tree at all.
