At least the interviewer called him on his idiocy. Give Fox points for that.

Rape is a terrible crime and it stinks that there is no objective evidence to prove it was committed.  You can sometimes prove sex happened, but was it rape?  You often only have the victim's word.

How does an "innocent until proven guilty" society deal with it?

"What you've done, Joseph, is taken an alleged victim of rape and turned her into a liar and a crime committer," the Fox News host pointed out. "That's a far jump from a 1,000 miles away."

In this circumstance, based on her alcohol level and the state law for Missouri, she was too drunk to consent.

I thought about that, and it's happened a few times, and I wonder if they do that do give themselves a facade of presenting "fair and balanced".  Create their own strawman so they can beat it down and say "Look, we're reasonable."

Can a 14-year-old even give consent in Missouri? That sounds pretty young for the US.

Un-freakin-believable. I mean, sure, kids 14 and older are gonna fool around, but legally? I assumed 16 was the lowest age of consent in the US. Proving yet again what happens when one assumes.

If you don't provide for the exceptions then you get teenagers registered as sex offenders for consensual sex when one is 15 and the other is 16.  There's no good solution if you assume teenagers are going to have consensual sex with each other.

Uh, yeah, there is. Draw a line and deal with the exceptions. Regardless of who's older, if you know what the line is, you know when you should be keeping that stuff on the downlow and hiding your condoms from your mom.

They did draw a line (or really a range), in most states.  If you're over 21 you can't sleep with a 14 year old.  But if you're a 14 year old and you sleep with a 16 year old, then that might be OK.  Or if you're a 17 year old and you sleep with an 18 year old, that's OK.

They're trying to exempt teenagers who make mistakes, which makes sense.  There aren't any laws that allow consent for a 35 year old to sleep with a 14 year old, for example.

There is evidence. An exam at a hospital hours later showed vaginal tearing, and that even hours later she still had a BAC of .13. That's not even getting into the confessions. :/

Eh, look at a map.

God's honest truth, maryville is more geographically, and historically, geopolitically north.

Well actually in this case the rapist confessed to the deed. They even had video evidence(until they uh, deleted it). The authorities declined to pursue it despite having plenty of evidence.

So, wait... conservatives are absolutely against teaching teens anything about sex other than, "you'll find out about it once you're married".  And then these same people say a 14 year old girl should have expected sexual intercourse (rape or not) if she sneaks out of the house to hang out with a boy.  Really?  Which is it?  You idiots can't have it both ways.
