Feminist #2 is wrong because you're using a metaphor to ascribe similarity to an actual thing.

Feminist #1 is also wrong because we know people like Palin and Bachmann were more than happy to contribute to this mess.

How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?

Trick question; feminists can't change anything.

Said it before and I'll say it again:

Looking at the colossal screwups concocted by the men in Congress, the idea of turning things over to women seems awfully damned attractive.

And then I remember:

Sarah Palin
Michelle Bachmann
Christine O'Donnell
Jan Brewer
Cynthia McKinney
Mary Fallin
Michelle Malkin
Anne Coulter
Elizabeth Hasselbeck

... and those are just the first few names that came to mind.

Most of the feminists I know deny any fundamental difference between men and women beyond the obvious reproductive functions.

Then I tell them that hormones that develop early in childhood actually, among other things, perform the function of "feminizing" and "masculinizing" the brain.

Then they start crying.

So Hanna Rosin said this last week, BUT but women legislators were saying it this week and John McCain said it yesterday.

So why is McDonough not acknowledging that it's not just the media but also the politicians saying this?

It's because good standing feminists know they need to hate bad feminist Hanna Rosin for saying the Patriarchy is dead, and this is part of the shaming and ostracizing of Hanna Rosin to get her back in line with the program.

It makes me think they know caring for the kids beats the fark out of the rat race, and that they are in charge so they choose that.

My cousin lost his job with his wife pregnant. He had trouble finding a new one, and she is pissed that she is now working full time and considers him a deadbeat. She has a nursing degree. He was a machinist.

/no, that single anecdote is not the basis of my thesis here, and no I don't apply it universally; just noting a trend.

/The brain identifies with a gender. That doesn't mean the brain identifies with a gender  role, which is what the feminists are talking about. The brain really doesn't care if you're out being a lumberjack or if you're cleaning the house, it just wants to know if you have boobs or a dick.

Mostly I'm just a Farker with a snarky sense of humor -so, a Farker.  I'm very well aware of the differences between sex, gender and gender roles.

I really do know a guy though who swears by what I said above.  Behavior, nonreproductive physiology, everything, he attributes to exclusively social/cultural factors.  I once asked him why female body builders tend to be less muscular than male bodybuilders, and he said it was because society discouraged them from working out as much as the men.

Women politicians can be just as nasty, stupid, combative, ideologically extreme, and self-absorbed as male politicians.

Look at Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Sharon Angle, Christine O'Donnel, and many other female teabaggers.

The only reason anyone would think that female politicians are better in general is because there aren't as many of them. But politicians are politicians.

That's actually not my point at all.

As I said there is recent evidence, and I pointed to that link, that you are not as clued in as you think you are, nor are you able to pick up clues from context. And it made me wonder what other things you might not be clued in about, and yet not realize it (dunning kruger).

In this thread, I can see, we all can see, your sense of superior knowledge, which I am telling you now, is probably not as superior as you believe, and likely has some enormous gaps in it that you do not realize.

I say that because few people at FARK wander around excited to identify the groups of people they feel superior to, and then also brag about it, and I say that because your response in that other thread is pure evidence you ain't as clued in as you think, and even now, you refuse to do the obvious and easy research to clue yourself in about that thread, even though you've been told you seem to have gotten it wrong.

Perhaps I shall favorite you as Dunning Kruger.
