I just see a blank screen... good thing it's in Beta. I'd hate to see someone pay for that.

Super Mario Bros. Crossover is even better. Playing the classic levels with Link or Mega Man is a lot of fun.

Ironically the pause function works better in Firefox than it does in Chrome.

Works fine for me in FF 24.0 by using the alternate browser link on the "Y U NO USE CHROME?" page.

I should just start filling out my unemployment insurance paperwork now. Your link combined with subby's just ruined whatever slim chance I had of ever getting anything done ever again.

Will try when I get home.  I'm not installing Chrome jut to play a game.  If Google wants to spy on me, they have to work for it, not let me feed them the details of my loser web habits.

Download Chrome Portable.
Nuke it when done playing around.

I haven't played it for months because I got obsessed with it. Now I am going to relapse since a WHOLE lot more characters and level skins have been added.

I killed a Starman with a fireball. I don't remember that happening back on the NES

I have a black bar covering the lower part of the screen where all the action takes place.

Is it just playing this under Linux, or does the acceleration feel off?  It takes too long to get into a sprint, and too long to stop.

I had the same feeling. Mario isn't exactly great at handling on the NES but this feels much worse.

You simply must try it as one of the Contra guys. With the spread gun.

I pulled up the console to see if I could find the multiplier in the code and fix it... got an interesting surprise.

It took 785 milliseconds to start. mario.js:1
Hi, thanks for playing Full Screen Mario! I see you're using the console. ui.js:19
There's not really any way to stop you from messing around so if you'd like to know the common cheats, enter "displayCheats()" here. ui.js:19
If you'd like, go ahead and look around the source code. There are a few surprises you might have fun with... ;) ui.js:19
displayCheats()
These are stored in the global 'cheats' object, by the way. ui.js:22
Change Map............... game.setMap([#,#] or #,#); ui.js:25
Change Map_Location...... game.shiftToLocation(#); ui.js:25
Fast Forward............. game.fastforward(amount; 1 by default); ui.js:25
Life..................... game.gainLife(# amount or Infinity) ui.js:25
Low Gravity.............. game.mario.gravity = game.gravity /= 2; ui.js:25
Lulz..................... game.lulz(); ui.js:25
Random Map............... game.setMapRandom(); ui.js:25
Shroom................... game.marioShroom(game.mario) ui.js:25
Star Power............... game.marioStar(game.mario) ui.js:25
Unlimited Time........... game.data.time.amount = Infinity; ui.js:25
"Have fun!"

Why in the world would you map jump to the space bar?

jetzzfan: Why in the world would you map jump to the space bar?

Some MMOs have jump mapped to space bar as default.  Though for Mario, W can work as well.

Yeah.  At this point if someone asked me to jump in a game that I had never played before, I'd hit space.

The controls suck, at least in firefox in the "play anyway" link.  Sometimes I would just get no response at all from the fire key, which is bad when you're trying to fireball something in the face, and a couple of times it took a noticeable amount of time for it to register an arrow key press.

So, it's a neat demonstration, but enough problems to make me go find a proper emulator.  Or drag out my old GBA.

Have you seen the video where the guy used a Kinect and some other software to use a Power Glove to play Surgeon Simulator 2013?

MMO's are latecomers to the scene. PC games have had space as a jump setup for decades now.

Im not a big enough of a nerd to notice those nuances, but I cant believe I still have the muscle memory after all those years.  On 4:3 you could never get that first one up and still go down that first pipe.  I think you could on all stars though.

Yeah, I couldn't get past the acceleration issue.  The game in general seemed a tad slow, too.

All those things are why it says to use Chrome. Those things work faster in Chrome. I don't know if it's because Chrome's Javascript is just plain faster or if it's only faster for certain functions that this thing uses.

Yeah, I mean is it just me or has FF become less of a memory hog and Chrome's taken it's place as a memory hog?
