Listen, she didn't need to be dragged out because she's a bible thumper, she needed to be dragged out because she hi-jacked a microphone during a farking vote.

The crazed court reporter who went on a rant about God and Freemasons after Congress voted to reopen the government was a registered Liberal when she lived on Long Island.

Registered Liberal, huh?  That must be a new political party that's so hip I've never heard of it.

OH!  THAT'S who the Tea Party and FOX News have been ranting about all this time.  THOSE Liberals.

And here I thought it was all in their heads.

Marcus Aurelius

New York has several small parties because a candidate can be endorsed by multiple parties. If Liberals don't have their own candidate for Governor they can endorse the Communist. The Conservative party endorses a lot of Republicans. This reduces the vote splitting problem.

Fun fact: The Liberal Party candidate for NYC mayor in 1989 and 1993? Rudy Giuliani.

So many thoughts.

1)  She doesn't understand Freemasons.  But that's probably just a factor of her larger misunderstanding of history in general.

2)  Why would you work for the government if you felt this way?

3)  I think it might be prudent to check her work given this level of batshiat crazy.

I could be convinced, in this lady's case, that religion is just the outfit her mental illness chose to wear.

That seems like an awfully high salary for a stenographer. Not sure she'll find a better gig if she's fired (which she should be).

Husband's statement was interesting.

"My wife is a sweet, level-headed wonderful woman of God," he told Pergram.
"I am proud of her."

Really? Not concerned, eh? Atta girl?

Oh, if wishing made it so.  I'm convinced that religion is closely tied to mental illness and may represent different forms of the same disorder.

My grandmother suffered from Schizophrenia and said alternatively that God / "The Voices" told her to do certain things.  Like run away with my father and his brother.  Or climb into the oven.  Or put aerosol cans in the microwave.

If only stenographers were allowed to carry guns at all times, she could have shot up a bunch of innocent people.  Right, gun lovers?

hearing voices is a universally accepted component of a basketful of mental issues. it really doesn't change when you name that voice 'god' any more than if you named it 'doug'.

Given that she records (or did) the goings-on of the governing body of the most powerful nation in the world, and, according to another article I saw someplace, has been doing so for 20 years, I don't think it's that extravagant.

2013-10-17 02:06:45 PM
She was in a room with our elected representatives. She clearly has mental health issues. She could have done serious harm to any one or more of them if the voices told her to. Let that sink in.

I do.  It requires little to no analytical ability nor is it that particularly uncommon a skill.  I suppose one could attribute some import to the role given what you said, but I put the skill just above dental hygenist.
