U.S. officers' 'phone sex' intercepted, recorded & shared at NSA listening post. (video)

Exclusive: Inside Account of U.S. Eavesdropping on Americans

In testimony before Congress, then-NSA director Gen. Michael Hayden, now director of the CIA, said private conversations of Americans are not intercepted.

"It's not for the heck of it. We are narrowly focused and drilled on protecting the nation against al Qaeda and those organizations who are affiliated with it," Gen. Hayden testified.

*twitch*

If you are suggesting that the guys resigning committed treason, try reading your constitution again.

Treason has to do with aiding the enemy of the government.

The only way they'd be guilty of treason is if they did anything to actually help the American people.

But they stopped 1 maybe 2 terror plots!   Isn't that worth the loss of liberty and money spent?

http://www.csoonline.com/article/741493/nsa-director-misled-black-hat - attendees-mdash-claims-of-prism-s-value-overstated

However, when questioned by Senator Leahy, General Alexander confirmed that only "one, perhaps two" terror plots were halted by business records collections.
Questioning General Alexander directly, Senator Leahy asked, "Would you agree that the 54 cases that keep getting cited by the administration were not all plots, and of the 54 only 13 had some nexus to the U.S.? Would you agree with that, yes or no?"
To this, General Alexander responded with the affirmative.
When asked by Senator Leahy to confirm NSA Deputy Director Inglis' comments to the Judiciary Committee that "there was really only one example of a case where, but for the use of Section 215 bulk phone records collection, terrorist activity was stopped," General Alexander's remarks walked back his comments to Black Hat attendees.

I imagine their real use is preventing military coups.

No doubt he will enjoy living as a citizen in the Police State USSA. He was so busy stealing our liberty, our freedom, our natural rights. He was so busy helping debase our currency. I wonder how this traitor will feel as a little man. No doubt he has won a reprieve licking the boots of his former masters and will be sheltered from what the former middle class has to deal with.

If they resign it will be to collect huge consultant fees advising the government on security like Michael Hayden and Michael Chertoff. They will appear on the new channels as experts giving out dire warnings about enemies real and imagined to keep the fear level up, which is good for business.

These days its more about providing big data style information to law makers so they can better balance how much of which lobbyist's money they can take without getting themselves voted out of office. The gerrymandering possibilities alone would be worth their wile to collect this data.

Think of how much money google and facebook spend to build systems to collect this data for advertising purposes. Seeing as a political campaign is basically just a big marketing campaign these days it makes sense that both political parties would want the same type of data.

Nah, just the agency has been around since 10 years before I was born (1952) and has been confirmed to be "domestic spying" (phone records and such) since at least 2005, more than likely much earlier, more like 1996.  I didn't like it then, I don't like it now, but it's not going to stop.  And I really am boring, so I'm not concerned.

I can't help you then.  If you can't see the potential danger inherent in letting the government know that much about you, then you're beyond help.

It's like looking at a 5 year old with an empty gun in one hand and a loaded magazine in the other.  As long as he doesn't insert the magazine, load the chamber, point it at you, and pull the trigger, well, you've got nothing to worry about, right?

So take the loaded magazine away from him except for when he's supervised by an adult.

This place already has your porn collection archived for you. Along with everybody else's.

Just wire me $100,000 and we got a deal. I'm knocking the price down a little because while it's a great space in a great location, the utility bills are a little high.
