(Yahoo)   Either Yahoo News is getting a mite snarky, or this was the greatest technical glitch ever: Clicking on the headline "What America Has Learned from the Shutdown" opens to a blank article   (news.yahoo.com) divider line 40
More: Amusing, Sen. Ted Cruz, Gina DeJesus, French Police, Ariel Castro, government shutdown

Whatever it is, we can all agree it's one of their best written articles in a long time.

Article also lists in explicit detail the contents of every Yahoo! contributor's brain.

2013-10-17 11:29:30 AM
And yet the comments......reference the headline as if it were an article.

Well we knew the teahadists were lunatics, maybe we learned that Obama would not back down during this crazy process. Either way, best article in years from Yahoo.

Didn't we wind up with a balanced budget after the last shut down?

After this one we (americans) get absolutely nothing. I think they may have repealed the buggy-whip subsidy, but really nothing changed.

Government employees got a paid vacation, so that's nice.  They all work so hard anyways.

Nah, most of us were exempted and didn't get a free vacation.  I'm a bit bitter about that part.  Actually for a shut down, very little got actually shut down.  Except for things that are impossible to shut down like outdoors and sunshine.  Those got closed.

This is what will happen:

1.- OMFG the Shutdown is over!.
2.- Post-Shutdown comments, political speeches, flame wars.
3.- Shutdown jokes and satires.
4.- Government shutdowns around the world (Belgium had a year-long shutdown).
5.- Shutdown parody porn.
6.- Nothing will be learned from this, and everyone will forget, except the hipsters.

Being that it is 13 hours in, I'd say it's intentional at this point, whether it was to begin with, or not. yahoo gets points for leaving it like this.

The only critique I have is that we did learn something, because of the ammendment in the bill that takes the debt ceiling off the table as a bargaining chip. Next time they pull this crap, it goes up automatically.

We still have a little ways to go, and Congress could repeal what they just passed (just like they did with the insider trading laws), but it was something.

There are so many reasons why that's not even gonna happen, that I would probably get banned for producing a tl-dr post.
