Better.

I'm really worried M. Night won't get any work anymore. It's pretty amazing he's been allowed near big budget movies for years anyway.

And I've listened to interviews with him before, this sounds nearly accurate except for the parts where he second-guesses himself

There is zero chance I will listen to a 12 minute spoof of a below average director.

The hate simply doesn;t run that strong.

Reconsider.  It's pretty good!

The only thing he ever did that was good was Unbreakable

Just watched this recently. Holy cow it's bad, but I don't blame MNS. It's not one of his movies. This is Will Smith's turd through and through.

The Happening is worse, but it's so awful it's good. AE was just boring and terrible.

Am I a bad person to say that I liked The Village?

You are one of the rare ones like me! I think the same thing ...

Though I actually like Lady in the Water... *ducks for cover*

/no, really. I like Lady in the Water.

That movie, well the 5 or so minutes I watched of it, is so bad I can't even sit through a video making fun of it.

2013-10-17 01:33:44 PM
That was hilarious.

"Are there any Tron Heads out there? you'll notice well took this shot directly from the movie poster"

"Cadbury cream eggs"

"That just looks like toilet paper"

As mentioned above, Unbreakable was good and I will admit to liking Lady In The Water. Liked Airbender too kindof.

After Erf not so much and I would have thought that the post-apocalyptic situation which has been such a home run for me could have saved it. Nope, not this time.

I liked Lady in the Water and Signs.

Not his other stuff so much...

Had me at that.

12 minutes isn't enough time to say everything that was wrong with that movie.  They did manage to cover quite a few though.

5/8 isn't bad. But boy were Happening and Avatar real stinkers. Like I wish they were intentionally that bad, but I know they weren't. Didn't see After Earth.

Unbreakable - Director's Cut is a great film.

AE was just horrible.  Will Smith Jr should not be allowed on film.  What the fark was up with his accent?  He sounds like he trying to create some sort of pseudo British accent.

Yep.  I expected it to be crap.  But its worth watching, pretty damn funny.  Especially the stuff about holograms.

Much too kind. The Village, Lady and Signs really belong in the sucked department. So it's really more like 2/8.

Ok man that was funny. Especially around the 9:50 mark, couple of really great lines.

I looked, but didn't find any more. I hope they do more of these. Funny stuff.

OK, I had honestly assumed that he didn't direct this and was outright mocking it.

It seems perhaps that he did direct it, and was still mocking it.

Signs ranks as one of all-time-worst movies ever.  The acting was good -- but everything else about was some mind-numblingly stupid, it's beyond me to completely encompass the awfulness of the entire movie.  But I'll sum it up with:  If there's a big-ass monster standing in the room with you, the only way you're going to hit it with a bat is if God told you to through your dead wife.

Yep, that about sums it up.

You forgot that water in poison to the alien race that is invading a planet that is mostly water.  You'd think that a race capable of interplanetary travel would try and avoid the poisonous planets.

Signs was a lot of fun for the first hour and a half.  I thought it was a well-done alien invasion movie - it didn't show wide-scale devastation as saucers nuked cities, just one family's struggle to survive, it was tense, it didn't show the monster and thus ruin the tension with a stupid-looking CGI puppet...

And then the ending.  What you said.  The fact that WATER was the key to killing the aliens (they didn't notice they were landing on a planet that's 70% covered with the stuff?  We don't plan to colonize worlds that have oceans of cyanide).  The bit with the mother pinned to the tree at the end.  Dumb dumb dumb.

So for most of the time I was sitting there thinking "hey, this is all right!", and then I walked out going "what in the fark? He owes me eight bucks".

Little bit like MST3K going on, except the times between laughs were a lot shorter here.

I nearly walked out of The Village it was so terrible, and when I got the end I knew I made a mistake by not following through. And now, After Birth.

Red Letter Media did a great Will Smith and M. Night bashing review of After Earth.

How to make After Earth bearable and hilarious:

Each time Jaden does this expression:

and then take a drink.

I thought Sixth Sense was pretty good thanks to the acting. I liked Unbreakable all the way up to the abrupt freeze frame that showed cards saying what happened next even thought it would have taken 5 minutes tops to actually show the same thing.
