The official also suggested Mrs. Clinton "download a parking app for her iPhone" in the future, in order to discover available parking spaces in the city.

She could also get diplomatic immunity and shoot the next warden who messes with her ride.

Interesting tidbit in the linked article.

Diplomats in London have racked up £70million in unpaid congestion charge fines.

Over the past ten years foreign embassies have accumulated more than 600,000 penalty charge notices after refusing to pay the charge, Transport for London said in May.

Embassies now owe £70,068,175 - with the US topping the list. Over the past ten years, America has picked up 66,372 penalty charge notices totalling £7.5million

By contrast, at least as of 2011, the UK was one of a couple of dozen countries whose UN diplomats had no unpaid parking tickets.

Sybarite

The U.S. position is diplomats are exempt by treaty from paying the city's charge. It's a "is it a tax or a fee?" type dispute.

Just like she did to Ambassador Stevens.

Maybe this confusion could have been avoided if they just drove on the right side of the street.

Sorry, she's an ex secretary of state.  She can pay.

A parking ticket is the only ticket her name should ever appear on.

2013-10-17 10:44:39 AM
Whoa. How long has Mrs. Clinton had the authority to issue parking tickets in London?

2013-10-17 10:51:29 AM
Well, I'm pretty sure she didn't drive and park there herself.

CSB: When I worked at a huge autofinance company, we used to get traffic cam photos/tickets sent to us because it was our name and address listed as the registered owner on leases. One day we opened the mail to see a picture of our regional manager blowing through a red light. Good times, good times.

/she was actually an awesome person, and laughed out loud when our boss handed her the picture.

First time she was able to get her name on a ticket since 2008

I get the idea behind the headline, but she wasn't even on the ticket in 2008, unless you mean primaries, which I guess counts. Also, has she tried to get on any tickets since then? Or has she been busy being a dope Secretary of State?

I mean, yea, I get it, but meh.

I do not think you have the authority to apologize on her behalf.

Gosh, time to re-institute the White Water investigation.  This time they can spend a billion dollars.

Seriously, though, what's up with the vitriol on the article's comments?  You'd think Hillary ran over all their dogs.  Maybe they're upset because she didn't beat Obama for them?

Back to the article, though: I'm guessing the Secret Service agents were upset because they were driving and will have to pay.

Hopefully the last too.

Its the Washington Times. One of the derpiest derp-papers you can get.

I'm afraid to ask.

It probably has something to do with the fact that Hillary is a worthless parasite.

FTA: A warden with Westminster City Council - London's glorified title for the American equivalent of a meter maid - slapped a parking ticket on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's silver Mercedes over the weekend.

Traffic Warden is not a glorified title, nor is it London's.

Westminster Council no longer calls its traffic wardens that, it calls them Civil Enforcement Officers, which is a glorified title.

"... the American equivalent of a meter maid" is a meter maid, the term is American. The sentence should be either "...the equivalent of an American meter maid", or, "... the British equivalent of a meter maid".

That's a powerful lot of fail crammed into eighteen words.

And I'm sure if it was a Republican who got the ticket, the right would be just as outraged.....right?

If it was a ticket for parking in the HOV handicapped fire lane, I'd care. This? Not so much.

/Republican.

The headline doesn't really make any sense. If she had tried to challenge Obama in 2012 or get elected since losing the '08 primary, sure, but...she didn't. She's been Sec of State.

.27/10  Old material, poorly presented, not enough vitriol.

Yea, but in fairness, iirc you're not too big on the Teaparty/"compromise is a dirty word" crowd.

My fault, should have been more specific.

A nearby photographer happened to catch the controversy as it unfolded. He reported five of her guards were standing by the vehicle, guarding it.

That's some mighty fine reporting there, Lou...

Seriously, that part of the story was newsworthy? Is it a slow news day in London? I can understand the story being a little interesting, but holy fark, it's half a page long...

She didn't get her name on a ticket in 2008. Shouldn't this say "First time she was able to get her name on a ticket since 2006", when she won re-election to the Senate?
