2/3rds vote for expulsion, right?

That's what happens when the process your party to select candidates uses favors the most narcissistic sociopaths.

Yes please! I'd love to watch the GOP institute an ideological purge.

Like we all didn't call this 2 weeks ago. Cruz was set up to take the fall. But don't cry for him, he'll still get his $$$$$$$.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I saw eighteen of them last night.

Eighteen United States Senators who were willing to risk damage to the global economy because their constituents are now required to have farking health insurance.

Obviously, the GOP isn't conservative enough. They need to move further to the right.

Cruz's 2016 presidential run is going to be even more fun than Santorum's was.

2013-10-17 09:55:08 AM
I find this awesome on a personal front, but speaking from a liberal perspective, I hope King fails.

As a sane man, I want the TP to continue to wrestle with the GOP 'lol moderates' for as long as possible.  Well into 2014, if I had my preference.

2013-10-17 09:55:13 AM
It'll go nowhere. There is a broad spectrum of moron within the modern day GOP, the whole party is way too right-wing. When you start viewing Mitch McConnell as a voice of reason within the GOP, you've got problems.

Much like an imploding star, it'll take years, possibly decades.

2013-10-17 09:56:12 AM
By saying that Peter King just did a political ad for Ted "Poutine" Cruz, I wonder if he did it knowingly or not? When congress has like a 5% approval rating they don't have much credibility, some low info voter hears Cruz stood up to them and suddenly he's their favorite politician.

Really, you saw 17  accomplices, ducklings who were willing to follow their leader off a cliff.

Smack that leader down, and they should stay put. At least, they'll stay put until the next odd duck comes along.

They won't expel him. They'll put on a dog-and-pony show for the television-people and make a big show of denouncing him and make sure everyone knows they think he overstepped. But they won't expel him. They can't.

He's their next candidate for President.

Where have you been for the last couple of decades?

Hell, weren't you somewhat alined with the GOP back when they would associate with sane people?

I apologize if I have you confused with someone else.

It's a very, very sad testament to the GOP's downward spiral into crazy when Peter King (who just a few years ago was making headlines for accusing all muslims of being terrorists) is now the party's voice of reason.

Well into 2016 as my perference.  Better:  the wrangle over who should be the GOP Presidential candidate leads into a split and the TP nominating Ted Cruz to run as their candidate.

Many of them might fit that description... but probably not Rand Paul.

In his case, last night was just an example of an off-his-meds lunatic coincidentally driving on the same highway as off-his-meds bus driver Cruz and his 16-passenger short bus.

/at least the bus had clean windows

Yeah, thats not going to happen. The billionaires fund the extreme right, all that's going to happen is the continued winnowing of the more moderate repubs right out of the party.

I still think we need a constitutional amendment that allows us to walk up to any Republican and punch them in the nuts.

The only problem with this is that he'll keep causing Congress to come to a halt (not that they were doing much anyway).

I guess all the derpers I come in contact with who say it's the lib/driveby/lamestream/in-Obama's-pocket media which has driven a wedge in the GOP and turned people against the teabaggers haven't yet figured out how to deal with this article.  I guess the lib media has fooled Peter King, too.

The more they gum things up in the Congress as we roll into 2014, the better.  I'm talking long-term here.

The best part is knowing that even if you had Speaker Steve Stockman and Senate President Pro Tem Rand Paul there would still be derpers screaming "LIBERAL RINO SOCIALISMIST!" at them.

Of course, they'd be screaming it in the midst of a crippling worldwide depression (best case) or cleansing worldwide nuclear fire (best case), but, still.

I remember when Weavs was... well, not quite a troll, but about as subtle as one.

Palin cracked him, and some Romney supporter broke him for good. He left the GOP, lightened up, and discovered Paganism.

It's been interesting to watch his journey.

That's what I personally learned from this event.  There is no pleasing these people.  They will never be satisfied.  They WANTED us to go into a recession.  They didn't care how bad.

And nothing, ever, under any circumstances, will ever be their fault.

I still have no Farking clue why anybody pays any attention to a freshman Senator in the minority party.

ESPECIALLY members of the House - they should be livid he's trying to tell them what to do.  Stay in your own sand-box, sparky.  Why they would kiss up to him and adopt his ideas is baffling.

2013-10-17 10:14:41 AM
Look - Cruz is the punching bag because his scheme ended poorly.

Had it not - I reckon that even King would have campaigned for Cruz.
