I like that they're trying to bring the Muppets back, since the world needs more Muppets, but isn't this the kind of crap that had them lose their popularity in the 90s? Why would doing it again change anything?

Formula: Be outrageous and saturate the teen market.
Lose market share.
Guest on Muppets to gain market share with preteens and stoners.

They better rubberize the Muppets first or they will never get the stains out.

Lady Gaga and Sweetums get it on!

I'm sure it will be all innocent. Just because Lady Gaga will want to introduce Miss Piggy to her dressmaker doesn't mean anything untoward is happening.

Isn't that Miss Piggy?  I mean, sure, the face is a tad thinner, but you've got that same vacant, doll-eye like stare and bottle-dyed blonde hair...

I'd rather just re-watch the episode of The Muppet Show with Linda Ronstadt, crappy haircut and all.

Came to say this. Aren't her 15 minutes at about 14:45 and going fast? Seems like people moved on from her stupid outfits and behavior and on to Miley. And as much as she wants to be Gaga isn't Madonna so she won't have a comeback.

Clearly the fact that you don't listen to her has doomed her career. It's been weeks since she's had a new hit.

Katy's Roar single tripled what GaGa sold in one week.

But aren't the rest of the muppets animals of some sort as well?  Whether they're supposed to just be humans or they're an alien or a bear, they're also made of meat and bones.  Why would she be the only one to get offended by a meat dress?  Are the rest of them all cannibalistic?

No, they had celebrity guests on The Muppet Show for years. It's crappy movies that they didn't put any effort into and just tried to cash in on the name that made them lose their popularity.

I really haven't heard anything about Lady Gaga that makes me dislike her. She's weird, but then, so are a lot of people. She might fit right in with the Muppets.

So, you like the muppets and have indoctrinated your daughter.  good for you.

i like the muppets.  just haven't seen many kids in my family with much affection for them, and we gots lots o' kids around.  they didn't much give a shiat about the smurfs either.  my comment about Jason Segal should have tipped you off - his love for the muppets is why the 2011 movie got made basically.  He wrote the film, and I don't have high hopes for the new one since he won't be involved.

sorry if I offended.  My point was this - did she seek out the muppets on her own (tv, commercials, beg to see the movie) or did you take her to it and say "LOOK MUPPETS YOU'LL LOVE THEM"?

I just took her to a movie. She formed her own attachment from there. It was a gamble if she'd sit still or not, since she was 3 at the time. She didn't budge. Actually, she did better then when my wife took her to one of the Disney films that got re-released a few months before. Lion King, I think. Seriously, nobody makes my daughter like anything, she is so much her own person that she decided she liked Ruthless People at one point, and watched it over and over for like 3 months. I couldn't force her to do anything.

She's a very interesting girl. She also has a jones for this documentary I found on Ray Harreyhausen, and we made a 10 second stop motion film using her rubber ducks and a toy dinosaur this summer. She's probably watched that documentary about 30 times now.

When it was on TV, they had A-list guests.  And it was *FUNNY* without being blue, so the whole family could watch it, even the kiddie-winks.

One of my personal favorites.

Wow he was young. Also one of the top 5 concerts I've ever been to. If you get a chance for a tour where he does the full stage production, I highly recommend it.

Yeah, July was so last summer...

Lady Gaga is once again the top earning celebrity under 30-years-old according to Forbes Magazine's annual compilation of the top earning staring in Hollywood. The 27-year-old topped a mostly female top ten, amassing an estimated $80 million from the period of June 2012 to June 2013, beating her nearest rival by over $20 million. The singer could have made more too, if it wasn't for the unscheduled cancellation of the end of her 'Born This Way Ball' world tour in January after she was forced to undergo hip surgery.

kids didn't make that box office.  nostalgic adults did.  they may have taken kids...  but I'd wager there were projectors playing that movie in many cases to theaters filled with nothing but grown ups.

She's got her brand going, but at least instead of being normal pop star stuff, it's devoted to alt-lifestyle teens and body acceptance positivity and stuff for young adults.

It's a niche, and she works it like a whore on Easter with double marketing. But it's an admirable niche, and maybe she's helping (ok, her websites and shiat) some kids through troubled times.

Plus she's amazingly hot when not wearing the persona. Damn.

Has she quoted the wrong number line yet?
