Even $1 a gallon is a but much to waste looking for a pet, when you know DAMN well no pet's using the road.

Guess how I know you've never had to look for a lost pet - hint: the price of gas never occurs to you.
Pets don't use roads? Really? Where do YOU live? When we get loose dogs in the neighborhood, they always trot down the road. If you are looking for a cat, it is faster to drive slowly down the road and look as far into their yards as you can than to walk. You need to cover a lot of ground, the whole neighborhood since you don't know exactly where they went. Driving is faster - especially if you don't know how long the animal has been gone and they can run faster than you. You think going on foot and climbing over neighbor's fences is quicker? Really?

brobinson2001: RobSeace: What Would Emilio Estevez Do: This reminds me of an article that was on here a year or so ago. In short, 2 teenage girls are stupidly walking along a sparsely populated road outside a small town during a heavy snowstorm and not dressed for the weather. A local guy sees them, pulls over, and seeing as they're risking hypothermia, offers to give them a ride back into town. They politely decline, and he leaves with no further incident. For some reason they decide to take his license number, call the police and basically report an attempted kidnapping, even though upon police interrogation, all three parties tell the same story (one simple "Hey, you look freezing, want a lift?") with no attempt at coersion or force. Dude is charged with a count of luring or something and gets a criminal record for trying to save 2 idiots from becoming Jack Torrences. Anyone else remember / able to verify this?

I definitely remember reading about that here on Fark, but can't seem to come up with search terms to find the thread about it here... /rodney-peterson-charged-disorde rly-conduct-offering-girls-ride/

It was disorderly conduct.

Jesus Christ.
