I hope this isn't how Lonegan won Bogota.

Hurray for Booker.

F*ck off, Lonegan.

Reporter: Booker, don't you have to run again next year?

Booker: Throw me in that briar batch!

I'm glad there wasn't a "Book 'er, done" type of headline.

Good for Booker. I'd wished Rush Holt had won earlier, but we need fewer Teabaggers in our government.

2013-10-16 09:48:05 PM
Huh, who knew that Tea Party Crazy doesn't sell in places like New Jersey.

2013-10-16 09:48:27 PM
How much you wanna bet Lonegan gets a job on Fox News?

Thank god that crazy asshole lost.

Booker is a real deal good person. I expect big things from him.

Were any breasts injured in today's voting?

2013-10-16 09:56:02 PM
Earlier today, my sister and I were texting about this. She worried that Jersey Democrats would not be out in full force. I said Booker would win by 15-20. I said that my hope was he would already be driving down to DC, and as soon as the race was called, he would walk onto the Senate floor and punch Ted Cruz right in his stupid face.

Good. Steve Lonegan is a hateful prick. We need much less of that in DC.

With votes counted, it's only a 13% win, which, in a statewide race is huge, but I'm still saddened that so many people voted for Lonegan.  What the hell people?

I'm with you on Holt, but I'll accept Booker over that TP turd. (And I voted for Booker.)

And in New Jersey for god's sake.

I chalk it up to teabaggers coming out in full force.

Bith Set Me Up ... but we need fewer Teabaggers in our government.

That's the important thing.

I refuse to vote for ANY GOPer until they dump the Teatards, Theocrats, bigots, and miscellaneous wingnuts.  Will that ever happen?  Pr'olly not.  So I'm a Dem for the foreseeable future.

To be honest, I would have preferred almost any other Democrat over Booker.

But yea, I may not be a big fan of Booker, but he's still light years better than Lonegan.

It's a non-presidential election, which always tends to favor Republicans. Combine that with the sense that a Booker win was inevitable and you have a lot of Dems staying home.

I guess I get it. It's sad though. Those that stayed home missed a chance to vote for Cory Booker AND against some twit endorsed by Sarah Palin.

Considering how some insane farkers in the House are potentially trying to ruin the country, finding out that the Senate has one less self destructive teabagger in it is a big deal for the country.

Am I fast forwarding too many commercials, or are we not being inundated with political ads here in Jersey? I saw zero for this race, and so far have seen nothing for the gubernatorial election either. I almost miss the ones painting Chris Christie as fat Satan from the 2009 election.

Booker was going to win easy, Christie is going to win easy. When a race isn't close, you don't waste money on a big ad buy.

I've seen one ad for Christie. It's a "Look at me, I'm likeable, we did bi-partisan stuff. Compromise is not a dirty word." But yea, other than that, all I saw was Lonegan's "Booker sucks!" ads. I call them that because they rarely said anything substantial, short of how terrible things would be if Booker won and how great it'd be if Lonegan won.

Relax, the 'tards made a big push to try to knock him off, hoping Demos would stay home. Next year Cory will crush whichever Gopper is stupid enough to run against him.

Lawrence O'Donnell just mentioned a few minutes ago that Booker spent less than a million on TV ads. Running in both the NYC and Philadelphia markets. That's not gonna buy you much, but then, he has to run again next year.
